Other voices who could be considered include Greg Brown (Pittsburgh Pirates), Dave O'Brien (New York Mets), Len Kasper (Florida Marlins), Matt Vasgersian (San Diego Padres), Don Sutton (Braves) and Daron Sutton (Milwaukee Brewers).

While ideally, the Cubs and WGN would like to announce a play-by-play man soon after the World Series, Stone is not sure that will happen. He points out WGN's national status and the new Comcast SportsNet ? which will also televise Cubs games starting in 2005 ? have people in broadcast circles buzzing about the job.

This one is even worse...

As for the play-by-play post, it's early in the process and there are no finalists yet, but the only two legit names discussed so far appear to be Matt Vasgersian (Padres) and Len Kasper (Marlins), and the Padres insist Vasgersian will be back in San Diego next year, for whatever it's worth.

OH MY GOD NO. We already lost Rosey, why must we be punished and lose Len as well? DON'T DO IT LEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I seriously wouldn't blame him though because besides the money, he would be calling games on national TV every single night as opposed to just regionally with the Fish.
