Ballpark Sites...

Featured Replies

Guys, right now we have 3 sites rumored. Bicentennial Park, Miami Arena Site (accross the street from the AAA), and the Miami River Site. I think this ballpark might be a done deal by November or December.

what makes you so certain?

like pudge said by miami arena u can get jacked!

i know, but the Miami River site and the Bicentennial Park sites can be guarded pretty well by Police.

Bicentennial Park is next to the AAA and Bayfront Park so that might be an interesting choice.

Miami River site is near Little Havana.

This would only be if they have to use Dade County Bonds to finance the park. It would have to be in downtown :(

so it'll be like pacbell park with the bay in the back hitting balls into the bay.

Usually when they start talking bonds, that means they would have decided on some sort of financing package and are negotiating the details of the deal. They may get a done deal by November or December of 2003. Not 2006. The main issue would probably be the commitment to winning by the ownership, and we have been winning. They County people are waiting to see if the team makes a wildcard run and can draw (30,000 last night was really good in this campaign) it may ease the fears of issuing large bonds for this project.

Bonds are like credit cards, and must be repaid with interest. They can issue bonds, they just need a way to pay it off.

we have to be a realistic as possible. Dade county is the only local government who has even talked about issuing bonds, this poll is to see where people would like to see the team. I said it had to be in the South Florida Metro Area.

What are the opinions on the pix link from bicentennial park i posted above? I think it would be cool if they cleaned up the area and made it nice. downtown is far for many though, they would have to make big transit improvements.

i used to live around there willis. i used to play baseball at filler and also goodlet, but most of the time i played at walker.
