November 6, 200421 yr ZO has asked the Nets for a buyout to join a contending team and the heat seem to be his top choice according to ESPN. Imagine... C-Shaq PF-Zo SF-Butler SG-Jones PG-Wade bench-haslem,d.jones,allen,doleac
November 6, 200421 yr Author and for the record he is putting up good numbers since his return.last night put up 17 points on 5 for 5 shooting, 7 REB and 6 blocks in under 30 min.
November 6, 200421 yr He's been looking good in New Jersey, hopefully he can remain healthy, he would be a nice addition of the bench or even starting and giving us two big men.
November 6, 200421 yr If Mourning returns, I will officially watch at least 11 Heat games this year. (Yeah thats right Cape. :mischief )
November 6, 200421 yr well for the record, Zo put up those #s last night against a team without a center.. Curry and AD were both out for the game. But I really like Zo.. I think if he were to come back to the Heat, he would be a very nice backup for Shaq.
November 6, 200421 yr You'd have to be pretty happy about having Zo come here. I don't think it's going to happen. though. Unless he's willing to practically play for free. The Nets don't seem to give a s*** that Zo wants out.
November 6, 200421 yr Ramp was right about everyone here ripping him when he left and now all of a sudden want to welcome him back. Not to mention it's a low thing to do when The Nets payed that salary last year for nothing and now he wants out.
November 6, 200421 yr didnt you guys rip him when he left? 609676 I, for one, don't really want him back. When no one wanted him we still paid him -- and if he's just going to come down here to get a ring :thumbdown

Not to mention it's a low thing to do when The Nets payed that salary last year for nothing and now he wants out. 609689 People ripped him when he left because the Heat were very good to him. They paid his entire salary, every penny, even though he sat out basically two years. And then when they were looking at a bad year ahead of them they asked him to resign with them for a little less, asking him for a favor since they were good to him before that. But he got up and left for money. People had a right to rip him.

But seriously, people had the right to rip Zo just as much as he had the right to make the most of his opportunity. He wanted to win, the Heat couldnt offer that. He also got offered MORE money to play with NJ - a team that could offer him a chance to win. Why wouldnt he take it? But I am on this issue (read more here). If this happens, dont be surprised if Ason Kidd leaves NJ too. In fact, I would use this as a barometer of the Kidd scenario. Zo is all but gone, the two sides have to agree on a buyout and that also depends on how much Zo wants to win. Ironically, his best chance is with the Heat. He started to see that first hand on opening night this past Wed. That is when all this talk of his buyout really started to take hold. Zo WILL be with the Heat by February.
November 6, 200421 yr But looking back at the Heat last year, he probably would have had a better chance if he just stayed in the first place and let the Heat have the year to rebuild.
November 6, 200421 yr I would love to have Zo come back with the heat. He could share time at the 4 with udonis haslem and that probably would be a missing piece that we need to beat the pistons in the eastern conference finals not that we cant beat them anyways but our chances would be greater.
November 7, 200421 yr Author Ramp was right about everyone here ripping him when he left and now all of a sudden want to welcome him back. Not to mention it's a low thing to do when The Nets payed that salary last year for nothing and now he wants out. 609689 mmm?? sounds alot like what the heat did for him you think?the heat paid him for 2 years then turned his back and left. he spent one with the nets and for alot less money than what we paid him.

November 7, 200421 yr nah zo would be coming off the bench..haslem is our PF. would love to have zo back for the right amount of $$$. :remembers the memories of screaming alonzoooooooooo mooooooourniiiing: yup. all we need is tim hardaway and ill be kinda funny.
November 7, 200421 yr Zo is a little bitch. He had his chance to stay with Miami but followed the money to goto New Jersey. NOw that the team is utter s***, he wants out. He is what is wrong with this league. He signed the contract, he needs to be stuck with it. Or get traded within the confines of the salary cap.

November 7, 200421 yr it has nothing to do with the spurs sheff it has all to do with what is wrong with the NBA...players saying they demand this and that even though they have a signed contract with another organization. If you dont want to be somewhere...dont sign a contract there in the first place. Not that difficult. You cant have it both ways....if you want the money, take it. If you want to win, take less money to play for a winner. Rarely can you have your cake and eat it. Shaq demanding a trade because of that little boy named Kobe is one thing. Every other 'superstar' in this league just about wanting a trade also is silly. Why do you think everything I say about this league revolves around the Spurs? Because I'm a Spur fan? The league does not revolve around making things 'easy' for my team.
November 7, 200421 yr it wouldnt be bad to have a guy like ZO backing up the diesel when he goes down the big man will go down and miss a significant number of games through out the season, so I dont see it as a bad thing whatsoever ... especially if cheap ZO >>>>>>>> doleac/zhi zhi combined times 6
