November 23, 200421 yr I know there are some in this forum that respect the sport and enjoy to watch it or have even played it. Its a shame that there wont be a season this year, i was excited to see what the changes the panthers made were goin to lead to. im sittin here watchin the panthers win the eastern conferance and just remdinded me of why i miss this game so much and why its so great, excitement, heart and surprises. its an underrated sport that everyone seems to put down w/ no legit explanation as to why they diss it. its a great sport and one can only hope that next year everythin goes well and maybe the OTHER florida team can bring home what arguably is the MOST prestigous trophy in any sport.
November 23, 200421 yr I agree with everything you said, i've been playing hockey my entire life since I was 5-6 years old and when someone down here asks me if I play any sports or anything they always seem disappointed or not impressed at all when they find out I play hockey. I grew up a Sabres fan and became a Panthers fan when I moved to Florida. I play in the adult league at Glacier Ice in Pompano Beach, Pierre Racicot who is an NHL referee plays in the same league as me which is awesome.
November 23, 200421 yr I'm surprised that's finally a hockey. But I wasn't shocked that no one that the NHL Lockout a few weeks ago.
November 23, 200421 yr I love Chicago Wolves AHL hockey, I enjoy going to those games big time..... The Blackhawks are a pathetic organization I won't spend money on...
November 23, 200421 yr Hockey is dead down here. Seriously, the only chance it has is that people might have been so apathetic to begin with that they're not angry that it's gone. No offense to the NHL either. I love me some playoff hockey. But...yeah...dead.

But...yeah...dead. 620360 honestly i belive you, but its sad that here ppl would rather cheer a pathetic and boring dolphins team than an exciting up and coming team like the panthers. its sad. hockey is still a great sport whether its dead or not to some ppl its alive to many others. including me of course hopefully this strike or w/e doesnt last too long
November 23, 200421 yr Hockey is dead down here. 620360 Absolutely false, hockey is definitely not dead around here. I hate it how people act like hockey is gone, hockey is not gone and far from it. Just because you can't go to the Office Depot Center and watch a bunch of overpaid million dollar cry babies doesn't mean the sport is dead. There is hockey going on right now and every single day at local rinks all across South Florida. The sport is alive and well.

Sorry, I thought that was clear. Obviously, the sport itself will always be alive down here. I mean we couldn't hold an MLS team, but that doesn't stop thousands of kids from playing soccer.
November 23, 200421 yr I also miss my Panthers. I miss going to the games at ODC and cheering "Let's Go Panthers!" over and over. I also miss sneaking up to the very front row almost at the end of the last quarter and watch all the action from there.
November 23, 200421 yr at least I get to watch AHL hockey. There are a total of 6 AHL teams within a 3 hour drive for me.....4 within an hour.
November 23, 200421 yr definitely missing some hockey ... and being in the desert it's not like there is any minor league teams also last time I was home I wanted to catch either the Elmira Jackels or Rochester Amerks play, but both only had homegames on a day I had long aranged plans best sport to watch live
November 23, 200421 yr at least I get to watch AHL hockey. There are a total of 6 AHL teams within a 3 hour drive for me.....4 within an hour. 620426 Which ones? AHL Teams in Florida is news to me. Anyways, most of you know I am one of the diehard hockey fans. Hockey now is no longer the pure sport it once was. It was the last of the pure sports. Hockey is still, the only game where you need to play like a team to win it all. In football which would be next, you can make the case for just being more overpowering. i love hockey, and wish I had a minor league team within driving distance. To help ease the pain I strongly recommend going to the Hockey Hall of Fame. It is the best sports Hall of Fame in the world. It makes Cooperstown look like an Antique shop. It is an amazing place to visit and is filled with incredible history of the game I love.
November 24, 200421 yr i sincerely hope hockey gets this fixed and comes back. everyone involved needs to realize that the U.S. hasnt noticed theyre gone and wont shed a tear if they never come back. this should tell bettman and the owners that they must do what it takes to come back and salvage what fan base they have left
November 24, 200421 yr Author this is just me and my opinion totally so dont flame me lol..but id trade footbal for hockey ANY day.

Its dead ATM for the simple reason of the lockout and we have seemed to lost the Rampage fan group we had on the board.
November 25, 200421 yr I love Chicago Wolves AHL hockey, I enjoy going to those games big time..... The Blackhawks are a pathetic organization I won't spend money on... 620238 Everytime I'm up there I notice that arena. Wasn't there a scene in Hardball at a Wolves' game?
