my name is james and i have been a huge baseball fan from the womb...i remember being at red berry's baseball world and finding out that florida's first baseball team may be the giants who were in talks to move from cali...since the marlins first took the field in 1993 i have been hooked and the dream of celebrating 2 world series championships is just as special to me as it has been to all the red sox fans that surround me as i currently live in central massachusetts...i have been doing my best to track the progress in new stadium talks and i hope and pray the marlins can get a new stadium deal done because i promised myself i would be there opening day of the new stadium whenever that happens...i have a cousin who lives in new hampshire and is a fire baller (95+ mph) and my hopes are to be his agent after he graduates high school...so that may offer an oppurtunity to get into the business of the game...so i just wanted to let all the true marlins fans a little bit about me and if there is anything that a fish fan from mass can do for my marlins to get a new stadium please let me know...until then...down with the bushes...especially the non-baseball fan of the group and hopefully we can raise another world series trophy this year to show thos rat finks in tallahassee that the marlins belong in miami for now and forever...go fish!

Has everyone contacted their representatives, Tom Lee, and Gov. Bush? I e-mailed Tom Lee (even though he's not my representative) and Gov. Bush on Sunday. Gov. Bush's e-mail address is: jeb.bush@myflorida.com and Tom Lee's e-mail address is: lee.tom.web@flsenate.gov

E-mail them now and express your support for the stadium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have contacted a number of reps as well as Bush. I plan on emailing them many times if i have to. I want to do my part. These people piss me off and I just want to yell at them but I don't think that would help. Come ON tallahassee get it going.

Reply from Tom Lee...

Dear Mr. Malman:

Thank you for writing to express your support for the state of Florida

subsidizing the Marlins stadium. I will keep your comments in mind when

this matter comes before the Senate.

I appreciate your involvement in the legislative process. Please feel

free to contact my office whenever we can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Tom Lee

President of the Florida Senate

Thank you for your email regarding the Florida Marlins. I am aware of

the efforts to help build the team a new stadium. The bill has yet to

come before any of my committees or to the floor of the house for a

vote. I will continue to look in to the issue and take into account the

requests of constituents like yourself. If anything happens with the

bill I will do my best to let you know. If you have any questions or

comments please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Sincerely,

Admin Cretul

I got this email from my house Rep.

  • 2 weeks later...

The Florida Marlins have to go up to the Florida Senate for their final vote to get a tax rebate for their new stadium. Without this tax rebate the Marlins may no longer exist in South Florida since Dolphins Stadium has refused to re-sign the Marlins lease after 2010. This means after 2010 the Marlins will no longer have a venue to play in if this new stadium is not built.

A bunch of fans are gathering across the street from the Marlins store on SW 37th Ave. and 8th Street to show how they support the stadium and they want their

senators to support it too. They will be there on Friday from 10 - 11 am. Go by and show your support!

Next week the Florida Senate will be voting on this. Please call your local senators and let them know you are a citizen of Miami-Dade County and are in favor of a new stadium. Make your voice heard. To make life easy, below is a list of the senators in Miami-Dade and Broward county. And your voter's registration card it tells you your district number for state senate. Call them, e-mail them, send them letters, let them know what you think.

I couldn't tell you how. You should contact the Florida Marlins front office. Call (305) 626-SERV and work your way through the operators and front office employees. Ask directly for Samson. The Marlins front office takes phone calls usually when at home if that is of any help. However they do answer voicemails.

I would think your investors would be given team shares in place of stadium shares. Stadium shares are non-negotiable as the County will own the facility.
