December 21, 200421 yr Was non-tendered by San Francisco, would make a good outfielder coming off the bench.
December 21, 200421 yr There is a list of all the people who were not tendered, no reason to post this seperate.
December 21, 200421 yr I haven't seen any other threads on him, so I wasn't able to whine the first time.. I'll take the time to whine now... I can't believe the Giants let him go. Mohr started the 2004 season a little slow, but he turned it on in the 2nd half of the season... He's one of these hard nosed players that always gets dirty and gives it all he's got day in and day out. I was really hoping the Giants would give him a lot more playing time this coming season. Hopefully, he'll sign somewhere he can start... I'm also hoping the Giants have something else up their sleeve, cause as it stands right now, we have 3 outfielders (Bonds, Grissom, and Tucker)... Feliz will get some time out there, but he isn't a true outfielder... To summarize, I'd love the Marlins to get Mohr, but he wouldn't get the playing time he deserves.

December 21, 200421 yr I've never seen him play or I don't remember seeing him play but the one thing that I noticed immediately when looking at his stats for the first time is his strikeouts. I can't speak to the situations he's been used in (if he's facing closers in the ninth as a pinchhitter something like that can really skew his numbers) but my guess is Beinfest is on the same page as McKeon when it comes to players who strikeout too much.

December 22, 200421 yr We'll need a 4th outfielder anyway. Hopefully Beinfest signs him and McKeon gives him a shot at winning the job in right.

December 22, 200421 yr He can't re-sign with the Giants. 640375[/snapback] Yes, he can. He wasn't offered a contract, but he's open to negotiate with all 30 MLB teams, including the Giants. Same scenario Matt Perisho is in. He can still sign with the Marlins. This just avoids going to an arbitration hearing. Dustan Mohr has said he'd love to return to the Giants, but if someone offers him a starting job somewhere, he's gone... I would love to see him come back, but if he's gonna play every day somewhere, then I would love to see that. Mohr will be a great pickup for anybody.

Wow, we might have to pay him up to a million dollars.

And I really hope they don't think Jeromy Burnitz is the answer.
