Marlins $100 million and Costs to Maintain the Ballpark

Naming rights $50 million for 25 years lets say

____________________________________________

$325 million - $150 million = $175 million

Preconstruction Skybox leases could pay of $175 million. 75 skyboxes for 10 years at $10 million each = $75 million.

$175 million - $75 million = $100 million

County and City must pay $100 million including land and demolision of Arena if needed. The governments want the team to pay a little more and the team wants the governments to pay a little more.

Remember that the ballpark will host games, concerts, and other events. It will replace the Miami Arena for many events.

do you mean "75 sky boxes for 10 yeras, 1 million each" you said 10 million each. that would be 750 million!! haha

I still think Bicentenial Park would be the "coolest" place to have it, but all in all when you think about it, Miami Arena makes sense...

But let's also keep in mind, selling/leasing the naming rights of the stadium can generate anywhere from $25 to $50 Million more.

NO! I f***ING REFUSE! No more crap stadium names like Pro Player Piece of s***. No selling the naming rights, that crap and it'll hurt the stadiums image. Make it Joe Robbie Stadium 2 for all I care just not a company's name.

I think "The PRO" is a really cool name for a baseball stadium actually, i dontl like "Pro Player Stadium" per say....but i think THE PRO, sounds really good, fits really good with baseball, its a good stadium nickname....i would call our new ball park THE PRO, just cause the way it sounds

No Ballpark and we continue to play at Pro Player Stadium

or

They sell the naming rights and get the ballpark.

Bellsouth Ballpark isn't so bad. Or my favorite, the Bacardi Bowl, free Bacardi for all!

Two, who cares? It's not like it's been named something else before and we go and change it like Joe Robby was changed. I would have no problem selling the naming rights.

How about this. "Florida's Natural Park", after the fruit/juice company. Sounds great to me! :D

Miami Arena site is big and allows for alot of flexibility, so it's cheaper. No special construction needed. The land is already paid for, and construction will be done cheaper.

I was referring to the Miami River site, which I think has an FPL plant on one side, a highway on the other side, plus the river on the back of course. I remember people saying that this was the most difficult site to build something, because you can only access it through one side. So it would take more money and time.

The Miami Arena site is being used by the old Arena, so your are going to have to pay for the demolition, plus the Arena is not paid for yet. It's like having two mortgages on the same place...

There should be a vote before the naming rights are given out, so the fans can make sure we have a name we like :D

Land next to arena is also a possibility.

Make it Joe Robbie Stadium 2 for all I care just not a company's name. That's why Bicentennial Park is such a good name. You don't depend on a company that might go bankrupt in a few months, or in a name such as Victoria's Secret Park... :lol

Name will go to the highest bidder...

AAA Forget the Freedom Tower... either the MasCanosa family is using it as a museum, or MDCC bought it and has other plans for it (last I heard). Besides, the place is a landmark, so I don't think is going to be used. Bicentennial Park is a dump for gulls, pelicans and drug dealers... use it for a better cause, I say... :thumbup

Got it... I thought you were listing the buildings to be included in the site... my bad

All I have to say is they better make the stadium unique in some way. The Astros have the Train, plus the hill and flagpole, Pac Bell has several things, ect. I want this ballpark to be special. To have something cool about it.

Because then they wouldn't get $... :p

Sell the name rights to Miami Seaquarium!
