July 10, 200323 yr Nobody herein wants to hear this. I think Baseball works only in quad-seasonal climates. Spring was anticipated! Couldn't wait. Gloom and snow and grey days behind. Crack of the bat was music. Football and basketball and hockey were over. Now all the sports run together. Baseball is still big where there is a Winter, followed by a Spring and a Summer. And the Boys of Summer counted. Florida has no appreciable seasons. Appetites run mostly to football, McDonald's fast-food mentality. Florida has no definable seasons. Florida will always be a diminshed baseball venue. Once upon a time, the crack of the bat was Spring-time music. Not in Florida. We have no Winter. No Spring. No reverance, anticipation, excitment for the Boys of Summer.

Montreal and Toronto really don't have a srping, they go from Winter to Summer in about 2-3 weeks.

July 10, 200323 yr Why doe everyone, only after 10 years, cry that baseball in Florida won't work. When the Braves moved to Atlanta they stunk and drew at best about 7,000 average per game for almost 2 decades! We have an avg. of 13,000 per game and that will rise as Dontrelle makes more starts at home.
July 10, 200323 yr Back when they counted actual attendance instead of paid attendance like they do now, I remember reading attendance figures of like 500 for games in the late 70s, early 80s.
July 10, 200323 yr On a dreary New York day in the late 60s, the mighty Yankees drew a "crowd" of 312 fans. (Pre-George, of course).

Getting Conine and AB will be gerat for the team in National Attention matter as well as helping the team... and the fans will respond. ill admit not many fans are like us, but thats cool the team has a buzz and Dontrelle is helping alot as well as the team is by winning sweep the Xpos are we are 5 games ova 500 and maybe 2 or 2.5 games the wild card. so its all good.....

July 10, 200323 yr talk about looking for excuses.... baseball won't work because we have no seasons? I'll have to remember that one.
July 10, 200323 yr i'll tell you one thing. where i am from there's only one season too and you won't find more loyal fans in boston, chicago or any u.s. city for that matter.
