July 11, 200322 yr Because I think that the Mets talks will take a least one more week before Benitez leaves. At that point the Rangers might be bringing down their price a little bit because they see a trade maybe not happening, and then we land um. Again, Benitez/Burnitz is what most likely will happen but the Texas fallout deal plan still might be done.

If a deal for Benitez is not completed by the end of the Expos series, I would be shocked. If it doesn't happen during the Expo series, though, I still think it will definately happen during the AS break.

July 12, 200322 yr I think something is going on for Juan Gone. Call me crazy, but both he and Pudge are good friends, both fired their agent (they had the same one) and JG has Miami as a possible target due to its locale and proximity to Puerto Rico. The Rangers are just trying to unload salary, so the amount of talent to give up could be minimal considering whether we foot some of the bill or not. But dont rule out Juan G just yet, he could be here after ASB. The other deal I want to see is Lee for Conine and Lightenberg. This was totally my suggestion (the Lightenberg addition, anyway) and would make more sense since the Marlins are giving up a good young player for an older player who costs same $$. Light also only has 1 year left on contract.

I wonder how much of an effect though Pudge has on AGON? Also the texas GM seems to be pretty good from what he got for Urbina. Don't want to even think about what he would get for AGON. The Expos were going to get AGON for 2 B prospects I am sure he would get more out of us though. I just realiezed how good of a GM Minaya really is.
