January 27, 200521 yr Very Nice Post to go through all the aquisitions, I see these a bit differently though. Offensive: 1. Florida, 2. Philly, 3. New York, 4. Atlanta, 5. Washington I think Delgado gives us the heads up, but I truely believe the Phillies have the next best offense, Abreu, Thome, and Burrell could be an amazing Trio and all three of them seem to very fond of their ball park. The Mets were a close 3rd, but they have so many injury prone and unproven players it is tought to actually gauge them. Furcal, Giles, and the Jones' could still be very dangerous. And I actually am relatively impressed with Washington as well, Vidro, Johnson, and Guillen aren't a bad bunch. Rotation: 1. Atlanta, 2. Florida, 3. New York, 4. Washington, 5. Philadelphia I agree that everyone always underestimates the Braves rotation, ours is fantastic, but with Smoltz and Hudson they are solid from 1-5 and they need to be given the thumbs up... I would have given it to the Marlins but Valdez is not exactly a quality starter... away at least. I Also think that Washington has a great rotation, All 5 of their guys can post an ERA in the 3s and Livan is a HORSE! Loiaza is the big question mark, but my bet is he will do much better in the NL. Bullpen: 1. Philadelphia, 2. Washington, 3. Atlanta, 4. Florida, 5. New York I agree completly here, but maybe would put Florida ahead of Atlanta, assuming that Alfonseca returns to last years form. And Going to Add Defense... Defense: 1. Florida, 2. Atlanta, 3. Philadelphia, 4. Washington, 5. Muts Lowell, Pierre, Lo Duca, Castillo, and Gonzales are Gold, even higher ratings if Encarnacion is still in the Mix. Atlanta is also very solid with both Jones, Estrada, Furcal and Giles.... And then the Mets... even with a Gold Glove caliber guy like Beltran in Center... WOW that Defense could be really really bad.
