Hurricane debacle

Featured Replies

Ok, so from what I know (and I know just about as much as any Floridian at this point...which should be a lot, based on the amount of information we received from my friend Max, and my man-slave Roland), hurricane intensity and probability is on the up-and-up. The weather forecasters were adamant that the disturbing pattern which took place last summer/fall would continue for the next few years (at least).

I was just going through the Hall of Fame threads, and I noticed the alarming amount of "hurricane watch' topics. It made me sick to my stomach to remember those painful and agonizing weeks during September and October. But it was even worse when I remembered that they were the ultimate reason to our Marlins' late season downfall. I can only hope that something has been done--some plan has been assembled, to prevent a hurricane from ever deciding the fate of our beloved baseball team.

I think we need to sit down and have a serious chat about the possible scenarios that we may have to deal with come hurricane season. We should probably have a heart-to-heart with Bush, and tell him to stop attacking the state of Florida with those wretched artificial hate-storms. We all know it was part of his ultimate ploy to win the electoral votes from our state!

The conspiracy follows as thus:

He hired a brain-trust to come up with a plan to guarantee reelection. They decided that the controversial states involved in the election would be Florida and Ohio. But the scientists quickly pointed out that they had condemned the city of Cincinnatti for years--giving them god-awful sports teams in response to their unwillingness to cooperate with stem cell research....Anyway, W calls up his bro, and tells Jeb to plan a massive utilization of power and electricity engineers and workers. So Jeb gathered the troops in Tallahassee, parts of Orlando, and the fashion district of Miami. The contracted employees were kept quiet by continual use of MIB 'memory distortion tools." So the scientists and meteorologists combined their efforts and created the illusion that there were four hurricanes headed toward Florida (all within one month of each other). Amazingly, the entire population of Florida was fooled by this deception, while the US government enlisted Dominican and Haitian island folk to collectively blow very hard toward the Florida coast--giving the impression of 120 MPH winds.

With the FPL workers already on site, power was restored after each storm, and George W. Bush made himself seem like a savior for sending aid and help to the victims of these tragic events. But just to make sure that his plot wouldn't leak, he left areas of Broward and Palm Beach without electricity for days (just the Democrats). So, enough Floridians appreciated the help of W. and changed their vote to Republican. The plan succeeded, and we were all fooled. Chumps, every one of us.

So basically, the point of my article is this: Vote democrat for the next election--you know, in order to balance out the corruptness of the previous election.

Oh, and I've already sent a letter to the president demanding that he stop the production of hurricanes at once--unless they have any QB skills (because the U is seriously lacking in that category)

The end.

PS--They already know. It's possible that I will be dead by the time you've read this message. If so, I'd like to be cremated and have my ashes spread across the sky of New York, so that I may render eternal darkness upon Met and Yankee fans (but I'll leave a patch of sunlight for Admin)

Congratulations on having completely lost your mind. It should be a fun ride for you from here on out.

I, um...well I must admit that I've outdone myself with this one. I really don't remember...much about posting this topic.

I'm not going to get into specifics, but I'd just like to say that it won't happen again.

This could be the coolest thing I've ever read, I will have realized my potential in life and may begin mating with wild boars if I ever come up with something this brilliant.

Well, I do know that Bush did make sure that Florida got all the help it needed after the hurricanes, because it was an election year, and his brother is the governor. Plus, we were a swing state in 2000.

However, I don't know where you're going with the Ohio stuff. There's also no way he could have "created" the hurricanes.

ur an idiot what kind of retard posts that stupid &^%$&

Ok fella, why don't read my other 350 posts before you call me stupid. That was uncalled for. I was a little tipsy last night (Super Bowl and all), and I have this strange logic when I drink. I tend to 'think' when I drink. It gets out of hand sometimes. At least I didn't cause anyone harm, or hurt anyone's feelings.

And I must say that I am very proud of myself for spelling everything correctly, and maintaining complete sentences.

But please, chill out with the hate posts. I'm an intelligent college student, and I'd like to consider myself a rational and progressive thinker. I like to talk about the Marlins, and I love controversy and confrontation. Hate me if you will, but it won't do you any good. This is me. The hurricane schpiel was the anti-me (sort of)
