February 24, 200521 yr Just choose the better party school (FSU) 693682 The quality of women at FSU is amazing too. 693705 Yeah all my friends have been to Tally and have all said that the parties and social life there is awesome I get to find that out Labor Day 05 (UM at FSU)
February 24, 200521 yr Get over the rivalry and go to FSU. 693668 Yeah I am at UF. I enjoy booing everything sports related and then wearing my Hurricane and Wolverine jerseys around. UM (all three of them, including UM (OH) is where its at.) 693674 Miami of Ohio is MU, not UM. Dumbass. Pwned. 693748 YOU'RE A FUKKIN' OREO. YOU GOT PWNED BY GOD!! /I win again 693756 You're a poor Jew.

February 24, 200521 yr Cape, I'm telling you this: Don't go to Party School USA. I've had friends go in there with really high expectations and dropped out two semesters later. Atleast with Florida Tech, you can concentrate on what you want to do without all of the extra distractions.

Tallahassee would mean alot of new territory to learn.
February 24, 200521 yr We're all pulling for you to succeed, so we want you to go to the best school for you. :thumbup
February 24, 200521 yr Weird I always thought you were older...like really older... Anyhow you should go where you have the best opportunity. If FSU is the best school for what you want to do, then go for it. University of Miami isn't going to give a rat's ass that you went to FSU. Plus, I'd imagine it being somewhat entertaining being a Canes fan in FSU land.
February 24, 200521 yr Author FSU and UM give 3 credit hours for a score of 3 on my AP exam. Tech gives none. A score of 4 or 5 gives me 6 credit hours at FSU or UM, only 3 at Tech. This is difficult isn't it? :lol
February 24, 200521 yr Author I have also been considering taking 2 years of courses at either Edison College or FGCU and then transferring with that AA to FSU's 2 year Meteorology BS program. I would stay home 2 more years and then finish it off in Tally. Anybody tried this kind of transfer at FSU?
February 24, 200521 yr Author I have an FSU printout on what to do, but it all seems overwhelming. I am currently gathering my Community Service Hours and high school credits. I am done with all my math and science requirements, but will take my 5th year of high school credit math and science next year. (I took 1 math HS credit in 8th grade and 2 science HS credits freshman year)
February 24, 200521 yr Author My perfect scenario would be doing 2 years here in Fort Myers at FGCU, then transferring with my AA to FSU to get my BS in Meteorology (major) and Math (automatic minor) Edit: Here is the guide I am using... http://www.met.fsu.edu/uploads/images/1/ugrad-2003.pdf
February 24, 200521 yr Cape, I highly recommend going to community college for a year, maybe two, before heading to a big school. It makes the transition smoother, making YOU less likely to fail by going straight to a big school. It saves a lot of money, making YOU less in debt when you're through with your education and have absurd amounts of loans to pay off. Oh, and you graduate with the exact same god damn diploma.
February 24, 200521 yr College rivalries shouldn't be a sticking point in the decision process. 694000 amen to that
February 24, 200521 yr When I was a senior in high school, my college advisor's office door had a 'top ten list of reasons that SHOULDN'T influence a college decision'... And I'm pretty sure school mascots/favorite team was one of them... Anyway, I'm a huge Canes fan and I'm probably transferring to FSU in the fall.
February 24, 200521 yr wheres the choice for neither? florida tech sucks and fsu is just worse. my signature tells the rest!
February 24, 200521 yr wheres the choice for neither? florida tech sucks and fsu is just worse. my signature tells the rest! 694344 That's a really informative and intelligent post. We are discussing the future of someone's life--not a joke.

Oh, and you graduate with the exact same god damn diploma. 694010 I was considering doing that. However, my local community college (Edison) offers classes at my high school (several of our teachers are professors) and I plan to take AP Chemistry, College Algebra, AP English and maybe an AP History class at Mariner next year. I plan to CLEP some Spanish classes. I would head to FGCU for my first 2 years, get the credits I need according to FSU and then transfer to FSU to do my BS for the next 2 years. Year 1: FGCU getting A.A. Year 2: FGCU getting A.A. Year 3: FSU getting B.S. Year 4: FSU getting B.S.
February 24, 200521 yr wheres the choice for neither? florida tech sucks and fsu is just worse. my signature tells the rest! 694344 Florida Tech is one hell of a school. And FSU is great for what Cape wants to do. You're clueless. If you want to have any type of fun, go to FSU. Melbourne might get depressing after a while.
February 24, 200521 yr Author I like FGCU, but they don't offer the Meteorology Major. They only offer the Environmental Science major as their related field. However, FGCU is part of the Florida Public Research University System along with FSU, UF, FIU, FAU, USF, UCF, FAMU, UWF, UNF and the New College in Sarasota. The courses are ID'ed by numbers and if the same course is offered at two or more, it will be the same curriculum and text book more than likely. Plus the costs are about the same for all the schools.
February 24, 200521 yr Author It appears that FGCU only offers 4 credits for some courses that FSU gives 5 for. This is going to be tricky.
February 24, 200521 yr Author Well, I sent an e-mail to FSU seeking information on their Transfer, 2 year plan. Hopefully they will respond soon.
