July 20, 200323 yr The Marlins are waiting on one more blood work to come back. Also Lowell is going to see another Doc at UF to make sure its not cancer. It appears that has been rule out but.....Well the Good News is "IF" everything check out OK. He'll be back in the line-up Monday. :thumbup
July 20, 200323 yr I hope to God he will be back and that he is healthy. Please God, don't let him have cancer again please. I think we all should include him in our prayers tonight, and pray he doesn't have a relapse.
July 20, 200323 yr I think we all should include him in our prayers tonight, and pray he doesn't have a relapse. yep...great player, great guy dont want it to ruin his career or his life...he has alot going for him :plain
July 20, 200323 yr I dont want to be too graphic, but it would be very difficult for this type of cancer to relapse. He had the testicle where the cancer was located removed. The only way it could relapse is if it had spread to some other part of the body before that happened, and that was like 4 or 5 years ago. I assume he gets regular checkups and some signs would have shown that happening before know. If he would be able to come back on Monday, the physical injury must not be too bad because groins can take a while to heal. I guess just the persisting problem there and his cancer history caused some concern, and Im glad hes getting it checked out to alleviate his concern. I wonder if the worry had something to do with his recent play on top of the physical injury.
July 20, 200323 yr Rosos, I hope you are 100% correct. Monday is good for us, Lowell we need you. Yep, but I don't think we'll need him as much tomorrow with Willis on the mound.
July 20, 200323 yr We do need him if the bats are like they were today...but that's okay... It can't be a relapse in the testicles but could be cancer somewhere else...obviously the odds are very unlikely but it could happen...I'll be sure to include him in my prayers tonight...
July 20, 200323 yr I got this from flamarlins.com Notes: Tests encouraging A battery of tests revealed some good news for Marlins All-Star third baseman Mike Lowell. On Friday, he had an MRI to determine the severity of a left groin sprain. Tests also showed Lowell, who had testicular cancer in 1999, has not suffered a relapse
