Bump Sucks

Featured Replies

I wasnt going to chime in here but I just wanted to point out that Nate has failed once again...and before you jump on me, rferry would be all over Duke if he went 0-6 tonight.....Im sick of Nate time and time again coming in and being a f*** up.

Best post of 2005 so far. Bump is garbage- always has been/ always will be. Thats why hes always up for LEAST FAVORITE Marlin.

you talk about being immature and what not and then you spew this out?

Let everyone have their own opinion. My is- Nate Bump is not a major league pitcher.

I really don't think you of anyone should be attacking someone for supporting a player. You were pushing Koch well after that terrible load the bases full outing in Philly.

732131[/snapback]

Right. At least Nate Bump doesn't have to buy a ticket to get into a baseball stadium.

Give him 2 years and he will be.

And I bet if Bump got the won tonight, everyone would be making threads saying "BUMP IS GREAT!" .. Get real.

Just go to the game thread and see what they were saying when he got the double play.

I like Bump, but somehow I knew it was going to end wrongly.

NO WAY. He has a 5.00 career era. That doesn't cut it.

Neither does a .500 career record, yet you seem to have no problem with Beckett.

That is a silly post. A .500 record has nothing to do with being good. Bonderman in Detroit is a great young pitcher but his record sucks because his team sucks.

#2-Putting Nate Bump in the same sentence as Josh Beckett is CRAZY. Seriously, look at Beckett's career ERA, along with Burnett and you see future stars. Beckett will have a HUGE year. Bump, well.....he might have a big year. In AAA.

Nate Bump didn't pitch a complete game shutout in game 6 of the World Series vs. the Yankees and win a World Series MVP award.

Either way, last year almost everyone was ragging on Beckett and wanting to trade him when he was having all of his blister problems.

LOL, I always crack jokes about bump alwyas being bumped around the bases, his name says it all, the guy is a joke, I must admit he use to be worse, but here is a guy that belongs in the minors, or even a rebuilding team, reminds me of one of the relievers from the 1998 season, given up hit after hit after hit, this is not a pitcher to have on a contender. Anyone else agree?

BUMP SUCKS!

BONDERMAN IS A REAL GOOD YOUNG PITCHER, but outlining a sentence to the extent whre he sucks cause his teams sucks is fine speaking of the tigers, but when u have a guy in a PITCHERS PARK plus with one of the best infields in baseball (florida marlins), u need to utilize that to your advantage, and Bump seems like he doesn't have it in him to be on a contender. He belongs in the minors, really. Imean would he even had made the team if we had not placed Rielding, and SpooneyBarger in the 15 day DL? Bump needs to go, and we need to give someone else a chance in his spot.

I wish the Marlins would release Bump for his own sake. This far from an ideal situation for him. There was a slim chance he might have made it as a 5th starter here, but he was never given that shot, only spot-starting after spending all year training and conditioning as a reliever. It didn't happen. It won't happen. He won't be a successful reliever at the Pro with Jack McKeon. There's just no reason to have him around. He's better than a AAA arm. Let him have a chance to show it elsewhere.

There is someone else who will get more than his chance and that's Reidling.

Bump is only there until Reidling comes off the DL.

I didn't see the end of the game but boy you guys are MEAN! You really know nothing about Bump. That is obvious.

This is the most disgusting forum I read and I read alot.

You guys are worried about Bump? You better start worrying about this teams inability to score runs. They had the same problem last year and the pattern is already starting. One night, like the first win, they'll score all kinds of runs and then not score any for several games. You watch...who will be your next victim? :confused

I agree. Maybe a trade. It's a shame that a player has to have years in before they have a choice in their own career. I still don't think Jack knows how to use relievers...like using Mota last night.

It would take time for Bump to become a starter again. He would need to build up arm strength and stamina. This is a guy that used to pitch complete games. AND WIN! So much for the professional coaches knowing what they're doing!

Our offense shall be fine, Pierre's bat is waking up, castilo and pierre need to set the tone, we have what it takes, it's all there.....Encarnacion is actually being very patient in the plate as of late, I am not going to say it yet, but surprises are yet to come. We have 160 games to play, if we have any problems their is still time to address them. This team looks good on paper, and it shall soon be a reality, we have the top of our order from last year way at the bottom, which only means we have a real good ball club, our bullpen is great, and our starters are going to get better, give it a chance.

I happen to be a pretty big Bonderman fan but right now, he is not a "great young pitcher".... The guy has a 5.20era and is 17-32 for his career....

The Braves were gonna come with something sooner or later. We had our opportunities, we didn't take advantage of them. Why isn't anyone blaming this on our offense last night? Need I remind you we only scored 1 run...?

He is not better than a AAA arm. He alllows way more hits than innings pitched and his career ERA is 5. He needs to go like Oliver and Castro did last year.

Let's not forget some horrible base running as well.

Pierre out by 15 feet at home; Encarnacion (after he was actually picked off) getting thrown out at second.

When you factor into a record 6-DPs in a game - it's the offense that blew it.

Bump gave up a HR to a power hitter. It happens. Let's not blow things out of proportion in Game 2 - a game that went 13 innings. The final score was 2-1, not 12-1.

Just for point of reference- his career ERA is not 5- it's 4.91

I was listening to AM790 in Miami this morning and they were right, we can't blame the whole game on Bump for giving up the solo home run. Hey it happened, but we had PLENTY of opportunities to score and we hit into many double plays. If he would have given up a grand slam, then yes I could see the argument. We have a long way to go this season and we need to focus on future games rather than dwell on the past. We can't change it now. It was a heck of a game and a great 13 innings.

on another note: anyone at the game last night and chuckled when they played bump bump bump when they sent Bump in to relieve? It made me laugh so I thought I'd share! =)

I got so mad when Chipper hit that homerun but Bump is valuable, whenever we need long relief we can use him. We got Moehler who can do that but i think we should give him another chance this season.

What happened when he went 4-0 in 2003? He needs another chance.
