May 4, 200521 yr Well, DW I like this idea a lot but my question is how is it managed? How do people choose who they want/get? I've never seen this done so I am wondering.

Example of a posters signature: Adopt-A-Tiger: Joel Zumaya Zumaya as of 4/29/05 1-2 (4.21), 25.2 IP, 18H, 15BB, 35K Maybe add a picture of the player. Pretty simple. Also: Sons Of Sam Horn Does Too: http://p086.ezboard.com/fsonsofsamhornfrm3...topicID=1.topic
May 5, 200521 yr Author Passion hit it on the head. Post count is the draft order. After say, the top 25, it's a free for all.
May 5, 200521 yr If a member isn't present for the draft they should be able to give another member a list of desired picks (from most desired to least) and that member should make the pick. So they won't lose out on their pick. This is how the top 30 would round out if everyone decided to be in the draft. But ofcourse some of the people on this list no longer visit the site. I've put these names in bold. May 5, 200521 yr Author You can bold Me, Passion, Craig because we aren't Marlins fans...that would look about right. Moneyball, you can help Admin by setting this up...I think you'll guys have fun with it.

May 5, 200521 yr Suggestions: As suggested earlier, no one in the top 10 based on BA rankings. If a member isn't present for the draft they should be able to give other members a list of desired picks (from most desired to least) and those members should make the pick. So they won't lose out on their pick. I say members incase the member you gave the list to isn't availible you have other members to fall back on. When you sign-up for the draft you should name at least 3 members that will have your list. If the member has not given out a list of desired draft picks they lose their draft picks and must wait until the end of the draft. After the draft draftees can be traded amongst members.
May 5, 200521 yr Why not instead of 'showing up' for a draft, put a thread where one can post their pick? It's not like this is a life and death thing, plus the people selecting are on pretty regurlarly anyways.

Like this we can finish this draft a lot faster.
May 5, 200521 yr The people drafting are on the site enough that they won't just disappear randomly. Require everyone to have a proxy in case of absence but it won't be a problem.
May 5, 200521 yr Author Do this: make a list... have a top choice, second choice, third choice, etc. If someone doesn't show for a couple of hours or day or so, just take the next choice available on their list.
May 5, 200521 yr just an fyi the Marlins top 10 prospects: Hermida Olsen Bazardo Stokes Willingham Reed Tankersly Vargas Andino Hutchinson none of those players are to be picked
May 6, 200521 yr Just skip the member if he doesn't pick within a business day of the previous pick? They can make their selection at any time afterward.
May 6, 200521 yr Admin, you should pin a thread with the rules and order of the picks and in that thread we make our selections if thats feasible

He came and went. He is nothing more than a bullpen pitcher at the major league level. Jason Vargas is in the Top 10- Top 5 now.
