July 27, 200323 yr YAHOOOOOOoooo!!!! What a win, sorry I'm being on the left coast this past week BUT I have some news.....I'll make it short I got to run..NO on Giles doesn't want to come here ..Mondo NO the Marlins don't want to pay the rest of that salary AND they want a top prospect if they pay the salary, Sanders is a possible BUT I think they are looking at Matt Stairs more than Sanders he gives them more options off the bench a left-handed power too.. R.White YES but the Padres won't back off Castro... I'll have more tonight.. GREAT WIN Just win baby
July 27, 200323 yr i like stairs, definite upgrade on the bench atleast, and stairs feasts of righties....
July 27, 200323 yr Thanks for the Info Edcanes! I would love to have Matt Stairs we can use him in the bench, he is starting to play good now....
July 27, 200323 yr I'm sure White's at the top of the list, but I just can't bear to part with Leno. And like I mentioned before, the only reason Stairs would be an option is that he'd cost very very little. On the other hand, it's arguable how much better he is than Hollandsworth. At this point I'm inclined to agree, the extra bat isn't a dire need anymore.
July 27, 200323 yr Stairs would be a hell of a pinch hitter for us and also be able to spell Cabs and Lee at LF and 1b occasionally. We would have Hollandsworth, Banks and Stairs to ph agains rightys and Castro can PH against Leftys. but who would you send down?
July 27, 200323 yr Staris will cost one or to average/below average prospects, and what an edition to the bench. Not that we really need any help on the bench, but he would be nice and cheap...
