You know that had to feel soooooo good.

He really got that monkey off his back with a 2 run single to left.

A classic swing...stayed back on the pitch so well.

Way to go Mikey. :thumbup

Mike's hit was clutch. Especially considering the slump he's been in. He won the tie breaker probably more to motivate him than anything.

It's true that Carlos' HR woke up the bench. They all looked completely lethargic before that hit.

It was nice to see Alex poke that ball into RF as well.

He's back :notworthy

That hit could very well be the spark that gets him going. Let's see if he busts loose tomorrow.....hope so since I'm going to the game. :thumbup

You're right PBMarlin, that must've been the best feeling in the world after the last 6 weeks of lousy hitting.

With bases loaded he knew that the pitcher wanted to get ahead in the count right away, so he knew it was coming, and when it came he took care of it. Great job Mike.

In slumps, hitters often get in the hole 0-2 right away, and I really didn't want that to happen to Mike with the bases loaded, so I'm glad he went right after the first pitch.

Wow. The stadium exploded when Delgado nearly went yard (and then foul) .. and then it exploded again when it was tied. Mikey getting that 2-run double was great. Stadium exploded a few times :thumbup

Delgado was just plain badass tonight. He hits a foul blast to RF and then comes back and takes one out of the park oppo in the same AB, then he cordially trots around the bases and goes into the dugout and fills out his notebook like a business man.

lol, yeah. I always wondered exactly what he wrote in his notebook, and today I finally got to see some things that he writes.

For that AB he wrote FB, FB, and CB.(FB=Fast Ball, CB=Curve Ball) And he circled the 2 FB's and the CB.

how did you get to see?

did they show it on camera?

They've said before that Delgado writes the pitch sequences and extra comments on the delivery/pitcher in his note book for every AB.

Yeah, the showed it on camera. They zoomed in on it so I was able to read it, and they explained what he was writing.

I've heard them joke about what he writes in there before, but I never actually got to see what he writes in there. I saw him thinking about what to write also, it seemed like he was trying to solve a problem at one point. I don't know exactly what he was thinking about though. He probably also wrote down who he hit the home run off of....

Also, just on a side note, his notebook looks a little old, lol.

This is great for Mike. Now that he has confidence he'll get more hits. When you go to the batters box thinking that you won't get a hit, you definitely won't. Way to go Mike, great game last night. Moehler did a great job too, and how about Delgado's OPPOSITE FIELD homerun?? Go fish

Hurray for Mikey!

I wasn't feeling all that great yesterday and I was napping while the game was on and Max was right next to me. When Mikey made that hit, Max screamed out of excitement, I literally jumped out of bed.

Great to see Mike swinging the bat like we know he could. I was particularly impressed with Moehler's effort in the first 5 innings. He was lights out.
