You want to see how seriously walks can kill a pitcher? Compare Moehler's stats to Al Leiter's. They have nearly the same # of innings pitched, hits allowed, HR allowed, & strikeouts. But Leiter's walked more than twice as many batters as Moehler.

 

I think Al will pull it together eventually. I'm posting more to highlight the amazing start by the other guys than to bash Leiter. Josh and AJ really seem to be settling in, Moehler's been a terrific surprise so far, and what can you say about Soul Train's start? If Moehler had a few more innings to qualify, we'd have 4 of the top 10 NL ERAs right now. That's disgusting.

Actually no it doesnt. Wiley has improved willis pitching dramatically, that doesnt mean wiley can outpitch willis.

A start in San Diego will be just what Leiter needs. I'm expecting a good showing on Saturday...
