Question: Tim Spooneybarger

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I just registered on this site and I am beginning to really like the layout of this site. I have a question. Does anybody have any updates on Tim Spooneybarger's condition because we could use him in our bullpen right now? Last thing I heard was that he was placed on the 60-day disabled list as of about one month ago. Thanks.

I believe I read that he was scheduled to pitch again either last night or tonight.

The last thing the Marlins would want to do is rush the guy back before he's ready to pitch competitively at the major league level on a regular (read 3-4 times a week) basis. Better he rebuilds his arm strength, velocity and durability in the minors and be ready to fully contribute in July or even August than to rush him back and have him re-injure himself or be less than effective.

OBTW, Welcome to the site. Post early, post often. :p

He pitched this morning . 2/3 of an inning 3 walks 1 hit batter and a fastball that topped at 84. Not Pretty

thats not downing spooney its downing crowell...according to marlins 2003 it sounds like spooney is ready for the big leagues if crowell and smith were doing that well.

I figured the sarcastic "impressive" was the part about Spooney

Stating Spooney and Crowell are similar is an insult to Spooney even if he's in the minors and Crowell's in the majors.
