June 16, 200521 yr I think the real question with Mota (and I'm not advocating we trade him) is with Gagne going on the DL again and possibly done for the year, do the Dodgers have an interest in re-acquiring him and if so, what might they bring to the table in exchange?

June 16, 200521 yr yea, and how woulds u know that the deal is almost complete? and what do you know about what the mets are offering??? :mischief2 :mischief2 :mischief2
June 17, 200521 yr Im telling you guys, the trade for Zito is almost complete. However, we have to be realistic. We are not going to get Lidge. Other teams are willing to give up alot more for him. Hint: Mets. 812183 Why can't you be more specific? 812466 yes please explain???

Hint: Mets. 812183 Why can't you be more specific? 812466 Last offseason the same guy started a thread that said he had inside info (without a source, again) that Cliff Floyd, of all people, was coming back to the Marlins in a trade that was about to be completed. We all know how realistic that was, and how that turned out.
June 17, 200521 yr You don't want Lidge, trust me. He was a novelty last year, with the late breaking slider and high end fast ball. His slider doesn't seem to have as much bite this year and his fast ball is off a tad.

June 17, 200521 yr They want more than Howard? Like another prospect for Zito? Good luck with that 811581 I think Howard is overrated.
June 17, 200521 yr I'd still like to see the Fish pickup Alex "Yo no steroids" Sanchez, he of the .350 BA (by sending Joe Dillon down or moving him) and see if they can get him enough at bats to increase his value come the trading deadlines.
June 17, 200521 yr I say we just wait for spooney to come back, and if he doesn't regain his form then we explore other options. But i think spooney is gonna be lights out when he comes back.

He's doing pretty much all he can now, and he was still cut (albeit by the DRays). He's not gonna take many walks and he's not gonna hit many homers, and while if you have a very high average OBP isn't as important since you're mirroring lower average/higher obp guys' numbers anyways, he doesn't fit this team (Pierre and Castillo are both better at all aspects of the game pretty much) and wouldn't increase his role to much more than a pinch runner. The again, we could use a good pinch runner. But then again, he was never a great base stealer either. Um, well, he's Cuban! That's good!

I'm just looking to give us another bargaining chip at trade time, one that means we might be able to hold onto a prospect we might otherwise have to give up in trying to better the club.

June 17, 200521 yr It would be foolish if the Mets didn't get Brad Lidge. They've gone this far to put a competitive field to go cold turkey in the all star break.

June 17, 200521 yr He NEVER responds when people ask him who his "sources" are, so give it up. If you ignore children, eventually they go away.
