Posted June 18, 200519 yr Dunn unhappy Adam Dunn was given another day off Friday, and he was about as happy as he was for his last day off June 3 in Colorado. That time, he didn't complain because he wasn't hitting well. Now he is vocal about it after hitting a 455-foot homer Thursday. "I don't know why I'm off," he said. "And, of course, they didn't tell me Thursday ? that would be too easy, they waited until today (Friday) when my mom and dad are here for the games. "I found something working with Chris Chambliss in the batting cage Thursday," Dunn added. "That's the way it usually happens for me. Something snaps into place and I say, 'Oh, yeah, that's it,' then I'm able to take it into batting practice and into games." Asked what would have happened if he had hit a 500-foot homer, Dunn said, "I probably would have gotten two days off." Dunn's comment on Austin Kearns: Dunn is (understandably) upset about sitting out Friday's game. He also says Reds management is trying to break Kearns' spirit so they can rebuild him from scratch. I know Adam jokes a lot and his quotes are often tongue-in-cheek... but he seems to be getting more and more frustrated every day. For the good of Adam Dunn he needs to be traded, Miley and O'Brein have screwed with him this enitre year with wierd days off and giving him no protection in the lineup. Now look what our idiot GM admits to doing In his MRI that we did three years ago [before the Reds signed Wilson], we knew he had some fraying in the labrum and a partial rotator cuff tear, but Dr. Jim Andrews [who performed arthroscopic surgery on Wilson in 1996] said it shouldn't be a problem and go ahead and sign him, and he did great," Kremchek said. "His MRI hasn't changed since three years ago, but obviously the feeling he's had in his shoulders and the pinching sensation he's had has gone on the last few months. He hit a brick wall and just couldn't continue. Morons!
June 18, 200519 yr Kremchek sucks :thumbup He wants to cut on my shoulder. Quick to cut because that's where the $$$ come from. :thumbdown
June 18, 200519 yr wouldnt it be kool to get dunn for enc straight up, thar would be AWSOME 815392 It'd also be cool to get Clemens for Leiter, but it ain't gonna happen.
June 18, 200519 yr i know, but since he got mad maybe we could be able to get him for a small lil pagage that wouldnt cost us much

June 18, 200519 yr Adam Dunn is the coolest, most badass dood in baseball. 815354 High season strikeout totals and mid .200s batting average is pretty bad ass.... :plain

He has never hit 50 home runs. 46 once and 3 other seasons under 30. :plain
June 18, 200519 yr Adam Dunn is the coolest, most badass dood in baseball. 815354 Naw, that's Vlad Guerrero. The way he stood there and stared after that walkoff homer... simply badass.
June 20, 200519 yr Well Mr. Moneyball....Dunn has 18 home runs, 37 RBI's, a .400 OBP, and is slugging .566..... I'll take the K's for that kinda production.
June 20, 200519 yr Author he hit another one today, they better play him 817653 He will get the day off againts the Cards tomorrow watch.
June 20, 200519 yr Author i bet we could get him for kensing and encarnaci?n 817514 We traded Encarnacion to you guys, and another outfielder is the last thing we need, just i vet you couldnt.
June 20, 200519 yr I'm sick of this "OMG ADAM DUNN IS SO GREAT" crap. He K's way to much. 816259 Dunn has adjustment problems but his K's are hardly and indication that he is not a quality slugger. High K's and a low OBP, then you have a point but to ignore his slugging, obp and HR totals because of a high K count then you are missing the point completely. Not even a little league manager would want a talent evaluator who relies only on K count for a slugger.
June 20, 200519 yr Striking out is thrown so far out of proportion by some of you. I'd say in some situations a strikeout is better than a groundout or foulout or something.

June 20, 200519 yr I see. I thought slugging implied hitting for a high slugging percentage. Sounds like you defined a contact hitter. Are we talking about Luis Castillo or Adam Dunn here?
