June 24, 200521 yr Even though Sunday's game is listed as a radio only game on Marlins schedules, the Rays are televising that game on FSN Florida. So, everyone in the state will get to see the game with the D-Rays announcers. Just wanted to clear that up in case anyone thought they couldnt see it.

And I won't be able to see Sunday's game either because I have to work. Hey Cape what's up with the Devil Rays and Pax? It says that they'll be on Pax, but when I check the listing for my local Pax station WOPX, neither game is listed on their schedule. The last times the Marlins played the D-Rays I was able to watch it on my PAX channel, and I watch D-Rays games all the time on that channel.
June 24, 200521 yr FSN has the Marlins and Devil Rays all the time, so when the Marlins are playing the Devil Rays I would be very surprised to not see the game on FSN. They'll be making a lot of people happy by showing the game. And as RossInfoMan said, the whole state will be able to see the game on Sunday, unlike the usual. The only bad thing is that as he mentioned as well--were going to have to listen to the Devil Rays announcers. I hate them. They're so boring.

Dewayne Staats, the Rays announcer is one of the very few old fashioned announcers left, listening to a Rays game is very enjoyable and has a vintage feel to it, he has a fantastic voice and is very similar to Vin Scully. He even won an emmy award for best announcer in sports or something like that a few years ago and he calls baseball games the way they should be called, not this over dramaticized garbage that is common with young modern announcers. The Rays play-by-play man is by far one of the best in all of professional sports and is among the best kept secret on the television side of the game, if he was in a big market he'd be a household name just like Steve Stone, etc.

June 24, 200521 yr Call WOPX at 407-691-7709 They really dropped the ball on this one. Good thing this is the last year they can do it. Next year the Marlins will have the 150-game package on FSN Florida. Hopefully the Rays do something about their PAX package.

Rays plans have not been announced. I don't live in Tampa, but the Rays station (WXPX 66) has their tower in Sarasota and I get the games with my rabbit ears.

I still think he's boring. You don't have to make such a big deal because someone doesn't like an announcer that you like. People have their own styles of how they want to hear things and obviously ours are different.
