Michael
Don't they have to WANT to do it?
Accord
Who else is a power hitter from Venezuela besides Abreu?
Guest Juanky
I wouldn't be surprised if Delgado represents Puerto Rico, but other than that I don't know.
Rune
I'd put Cabrera in, The Home Run Derby should be a time to showcase new talent rather than rely on old stars. Most people tune in to the derby for most part regardless if some of the bigger names are left out.

Seems kinda stupid to go to Detroit just for the Home Run Derby.

The event is bigger than the participants.

Same with Griffey when he was tearing them up in The 90's. What makes The Derby different from say a slam dunk contest is even when the bigger stars sit out you still have the top heap in it. The Dunk has become so watered down because they just reach out to non all stars who fans know little about. Not to mention, new stars like Ortiz(leading vote getter) are emerging who could easily take Bond's place.
MarlinFan10
It's ghey that only one person from each country can be in it. This most likely means Tejada, a Domican, won't be in it this year, despite his record breaking performance last year.

stefanodemais
They just announced during the phillies-pirates game on ESPN that Abreu will be representing Venezuela (look at that he JUST hit a Grand Slam).
Rune
Just saw the commercial promoting the derby. As for Delgado and PR, they are advertising Pudge.
BIG Z
I wonder who's doing it for the U.S.
Brandman316
Lol saw the same commercial watching SportsCenter, Looks like no Marlins are going
Rune
The whole system is complete BS. I don't know who's representing The DR but either Ortiz and Tejada will be left out while players like Jason Bay get to be in it. BTW, if Matsui doesn't make the vote does that mean Ichiro is in the derby representing Japan?
FreshFish
This Home Run Derby will be a complete joke. Not sure what they are thinking. Just play a US vs Non-US team on spring training, and that should be a lot of fun.
SongInTheAir
I wonder who's doing it for the U.S. 840257[/snapback] Adam Dunn?
