Expos Ranchod
Good move by the Cubs. Patterson was just clueless up there recently. His plate discipline is absolutely awful and going to the minors to work on that is the right play.
JJ24
interesting, I remember when the BBTN crew used to proclaim Patterson as the next messiah and 40/40 man.

CardsJimEdmonds15
Cubs send Patterson, Dubois down; call up Greenberg, Murton ATLANTA (Ticker) - Corey Patterson's struggles have landed him in the minor leagues. The reeling Cubs optioned the disappointing outfielder to Class AAA Iowa of the Pacific Coast League following Thursday night's game against the Atlanta Braves. After batting .266 with career highs of 24 homers and 72 RBI in 157 games last season, Patterson - the Cubs' starting center fielder - has endured a nightmarish 2005 campaign. Patterson entered the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Atlanta, mired in a 2-for-25 slump over his last eight games. Over the weekend, Patterson was booed loudly at Wrigley Field. Patterson, 25, is batting .232 with 11 homers, 24 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 83 games this season. He also has struck out 83 times in 314 at-bats. "Obviously, things have not been going well here," Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said. "This is not to point fingers at anyone, especially Corey. But Corey obviously has been in a funk. We're not helping him under these conditions. Maybe this can clear his head." Mired in a season-high eight-game losing streak after dropping both games to the Braves, the Cubs (40-44) also optioned outfielder Jason Dubois to Iowa while purchasing the contracts of outfielders Adam Greenberg and Matt Murton from Class AA West Tenn of the Southern League. [More in URL] LMAO and to think some Cubs fans thought he's the next Jim Edmonds.. Wait.. I had drafted Patterson on my fantasy team but dropped him about 5 weeks ago.. It was frustrating to know he'd always strike out.. i'd hate to be a Cubs fan then. They sent down Dubois too? Wow.. Talk about a shakeup.. QuickGold
Patterson doesn't understand what his role should be on the team. 845705 What? Hit above .150 for a month? 846147 The guy thinks he's a HR hitter but he should try being a slap hitter who uses his speed to his advantage. Think Scott Podsednik. Iowa
Quickgold, you are completely wrong. Patterson is a power hitter who the Cubs keep trying to make a leadoff hitter. He just needs a better approach and more patience. Just because he is fast doesn't mean he has to be a slap hitter.
RockyMountainMarlin
Murton was beyond impressive.
Craig
Patterson needs to stop swinging for the freaking fences.....he has natural power, and if he just used his natural swing, he'd hit his homers and get more hits period. I will never like him as an MLB CF though, he has bad instincts on the bases and no patience at the plate.
