Agreed. I don't have a problem with Carpenter starting at all.

 

It would have been a nice honor if Dontrelle had started, but Chris was every bit as deserving, and if I were TLR I would have picked Chris as well.

 

Dontrelle will have a great attitude regardless. He'll get in there to pitch an inning or two and will show that enthusiasm to the entire country. I really hope TLR lets him get an AB as well.

Plus now LoDuca may catch Dontrelle so it all works out nice.

I read on MLB.com that Tony LaRussa was considering using 9 different pitchers, an inning apiece.

Even, maybe, but LaRussa is still a homer. Same for Francona.

if dontrelle hadnt laid an egg in his last start than maybe. carpenter has stats very similar to dontrelle, its not a shocker and not really all that unexpected.

I havnt seen but a few starts from Dontrelle this year, i also saw a few last year, i really like what i see. He can be huge, they were similar, but i think that Dontrelles 5 CG's should have put him over.

flat out stupid eh? jeez thats a bit harsh for peoples opinions. i def feel that the don's last outing cost him the start. regardless i cant wait to see his excitement out there on the mound facing some AL cats who havent had the chance to ever face him. should be good times regardless of what inning he is pitching. its a shame we wont get to see him bat.
