Posted August 6, 200321 yr Stratton Voted Top Power Prospect Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Robert Stratton was chosen as the "Best Power Prospect" in the Pacific Coast League by the Best Tools Survey of Minor League Baseball. Minor league managers form respective leagues selected the best players for a variety of key skills for the survey. Stratton leads the PCL with 30 home runs and recently won the Old Navy Home Run Race in Memphis during the All-Star Game. Players and managers cannot deny Stratton's strength at the plate. ?When Stratton comes to the plate, he might strike out but he also might hit one 500 feet,? said Oklahoma Redhawks manager Bobby Jones. Stratton, who is currently on the disabled list, leads all of Minor League Baseball and the Old Navy Home Run race with his 30 HR and his second in the PCL with 76 RBI.
August 6, 200321 yr I think Stratton is on the disabled list because of taking a pitch on the finger. I asked often if Stratton was getting enough help learning the strike zone. Also asked if he was getting 'Topes time at first base. My questions were greeted with ridicule. We need to cultivate our prospectives. And not just play the September call-up game. We need bench support now.
August 6, 200321 yr Author He should be off the DL in 3 days. When you asked if he had played any first base I said no. And as for getting extra help for his hitting I dont know...
August 6, 200321 yr At the last few topes games I've been to, I've just seen Strat take normal BP. This isn't to say he's not getting extra help I just haven't seen anything during BP. Theres a community college parking lot right behind the stadium and I saw him bash out a truck window. That was pretty cool.
August 6, 200321 yr *Raises hand* Will Stratton come up to play with the big club in September? There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. Yes, he'll be a call-up...
August 6, 200321 yr Stratton Voted Top Power Prospect Wow....calling Stratton a "prospect" is REALLY reaching....
August 6, 200321 yr Wow....calling Stratton a "prospect" is REALLY reaching.... He's only 25. Bo Hart is 26.
