August 7, 200323 yr Long-time D. Lee fan, expecting his customary second half rally, disappointed. But, who do we put in to give him a break? Banks? Mordy? Fox? Said before we need a good stick veteran bench OF that can play all OF positions plus first. Our starters are great. But this stretch will be taxing on all. And we need to be ready for October.
August 7, 200323 yr Come to think of it, has Lee hit a homerun since he hurt his shoulder in that game? I don't think he has...
August 7, 200323 yr i would like to see hollansworth play first and give d.lee a break but i dunno if hollansworth can play first.
August 7, 200323 yr Lee needs a break. He has only 11 ribbies this month. He's my roto secret weapon. For my roto sake I hope he is more Lee Majors than Travis Lee.
August 7, 200323 yr Give Castro a chance at 1b. Not such a bad idea...He is a catcher after all the positions are similar. :mischief2 From what I've seen he's probably the best offensive player on the bench. However,I'm not sure Jack McKeon has met Ramon Castro though, so I don't think it's going to happen.

Why Ramon Castro is not being used... must be a disgusting story.
August 7, 200323 yr Pudge - 10M Redmond - >1.5M If they are paying that much for Redmond, there is a reason, prolly more than we will know. He is a leader and good handler of pitchers. If Pudge were not here, Castro would be the everyday catcher. Redmond is just a backup.
August 7, 200323 yr I think we need to consider adding another bat for the stretch run. A guy who could play the outfield and first base would be great. This way, we can rest D.Lee and Cabrera or Encarnacion if necessary.

Actually I'm wrong....He's the bullpen pitching warmup catcher.
August 7, 200323 yr Come to think of it, has Lee hit a homerun since he hurt his shoulder in that game? I don't think he has... He only sustained the injury like a week ago, but you can tell on those BIG swings he takes, it hurts. Don't rest him today, you rest him maybe against the Brewers. If Pudge were not here Redmond would be the starting catcher. As of now,Castro is the 3rd catcher. Actually I'm wrong....He's the bullpen pitching warmup catcher. Redmond ISN'T a starter. He can't play everyday, and he'll be the first one to tell you. He's just a very good back-up. Castro would be the everyday catcher, and there's no questioning that. Redmond is a great contact hitter. Castro is a great contact hitter, that also has good/great power.

I'm saying Jack would make Redmond the starting catcher. Jack, he would never let Castro sit behind homeplate with catchers gear on.
