Tampa Bay after the Yankees

Featured Replies

They won 3 of 4 against the Yankees in Tampa Bay in early May then were swept by Minnesota.

They won 3 of 4 in New York in late June and were then swept by Florida.

They won 2 of 3 against the Yankees in Tampa in mid-August...now host Texas...

If my memory serves me right the past 3-4 years they have always played the Yankees tough.

It must be a blend of having a big crowd and simply playing a team like the Yankees. The players must get up for those series like no other.

Wrong. The Yankees have historically beat the s*** out of the Devil Rays. I believe they actually won one series out of four last year, but other than that they have gotten a thorough beatdown.

Not this year though, FEAR THE RAYS! GO DAMON HOLLINS! WOOO!

I said the past 3-4 years they played the yankees tough. I didnt say they beat them, I just said Tampa usually gives you guys some tough games and steals a couple.

Usually Yanks own Tampa Bay but this year, Tampa has been killing the Yankees. I think it's Lou firing up his boys when NY or Boston plays them.

The DRays are still the best damn batflippers in the league.

Imagine if the owners actually spent money on that team. :whistle

DRays hitting and our (Marlins) pitching? hmm :shrugs

I don't follow them much, but from what I have seen, they have a pretty good hitting team...their pitching is just non-existant...

Which lineup is better? 1-8, no DH

Marlins or DRays?

D-Rays:

3rd in AL in BA = .275

7th in AL in HR = 125

7th in AL in OBP = .331

7th in AL in SLG = .427

8th in AL in RS = 596

Marlins:

Tied 1st in NL in BA = .273

14th in NL in HR = 100

4th in NL in OBP = .338

9th in NL in SLG = .411

7th in NL in RS = 568

dunno you tell me??

The D-Rays have a lot of talent. If the owners spend some money to get a better pitching staff they'd probably be in 3rd place right now.

swept the Yankees earlier this year.

They're still 10 games behind Baltimore for second to last. I think the law of averages is just playing out. They'll still be in last at the end of the season.

Wel, that's obvious, but the key here is that there is hope for the franchise to maybe climb out of the gutter.

Imagine that. The Devil Rays becoming a real baseball team. :o

All I have to say is this:

Goodbye Tampa Bay hello Boston!

I'll be a bleacher creature at tomorrow's game... :cool

They dont even have Upton or Delmon Young. All this team needs is pitching.

And to play Yanks & Red Sox for about 80% of the season
