MVP NCAA Baseball 2006

I know this is slightly off topic, but the stadium in Omaha...Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium...is why I think Omaha could support MLB(say, if the Rays moved, I think they could end up there). It already has a capacity of 22,000, and could easily be expanded to 33-35 K if needed to accomidate a MLB team. Much easier than building a new ballpark and it is a beautiful complex.

OK, back on topic, EA Sports Road To Omaha. I have been wanting this game to be made for a long time, I really cant wait.

Why wouldn't they be? NCAA Football has D1-AA teams, so I'm pretty sure every team and stadium will be represented, at least in D-1. Worried you wont be able to use your Huskies? NIU has been near the top of the MAC in baseball and football lately right? Man if they could get their basketball program up and running, they could prob get invited to join a bigger conference.

No are baseball team was awful last year. And trust me if we keep making the steps that we have been the past few years in football, it won't be long before we jump up to a bigger conference.

And watch out for NIU in bball this year, they could be a sleeper in the MAC.

This would be the year to do it, if for nothing more to get recognition, since SIU and U of I could both be headed for down years(although I hope not, go Salukis). Actually, if the Big 10 can find a way to drop Penn State from basketball(which they should...but probably wont since theyd take their football program and their revenue producing 100k football stadium to another conference as well), SIU could get an invite to join the conference for basketball...creates a natural rivalry with U of I, and they'd finish in the top half of the conference...strong basketball school for a mid major.

No way SIU, is joining the Big 11. The Big 11 won't drop Penn State from Bball because of the history and the fans they draw in football. The Big 11 is a football conference.

This has been my dream for years. I can't wait.

Seems pretty cool. Should be a good bit of fun to play.

I wonder how many of the real stadiums they will have.

Hopefully, they have a good recruiting system too. Should be pretty interesting trying to persuade the top prospects not too enter the draft and come to your school.

There are 8-9 cities that deserve a team before Omaha. Even some of the cities that are ahead of Omaha are 10-15 years away from deserving a team.

Stop talking out of your ass. Realize what it takes to support a big league team.

I don't watch much college baseball but I'd buy this game.

I've also been wanting this for a while, the thought of taking a team through the conference tourney and regionals all the way to Omaha just sounds amazing. I hope they include all I-A teams, I would hate for FIU to be left out. Although, I doubt that will happen because the Sun Belt has some really good baseball programs.

if you look carefully at the Temple baseball stadium, you can see my apartment prolly near there.

I'm not a huge college baseball fan, since teams up here don't really have a fair chance, but I can't wait for this game. I love the engine too much.

I wonder if I'll have to play my first 15 games on the road on the game too.

How am I talking out my ass? Omaha already has a baseball stadium that could support a MLB crowd, its a baseball city, and it has a large metropolitan area. What cities are more deserving that dont already have one?

Where is the population to support a team?

Omaha is the 75th largest market in the country. :plain 75!

I'll give you a list of cities that deserve a team before Omaha.

Las Vegas

Portland

Indianapolis

Charlotte

Hartford

Montreal

Raleigh

Nashville

(all except LV bigger markets than KC, MIL, CIN)

Columbus

Salt Lake City

Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson

San Antonio

Grand rapids-Kalamazoo

Birmingham

West Palm Beach

Memphis

Norfolk

New Orleans

Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem

Oklahoma City

Harrisburg

Buffalo

Albuquerque

Providence

Louisville

Scranton

Jacksonville

Austin

Fresno-Visalia

Little Rock

Albany

Richmond

Tulsa

Dayton

Charleston, WV

Knoxville

Mobile

Flint

Wichita

Lexington

Roanoke

Toledo

Green Bay

Des Moines

Rochester

Honolulu :plain!!!!!!!

Tucson

Springfield, MO

All bigger media markets than Omaha. Omaha might be a baseball town and they might have a stadium, but they don't have the population. Nobody lives in the state of Nebraska. There is no way in hell they'd be able to put 20-30k in there consistently. Then you'd have the problem of the team not making any money whatsoever on TV revenues (which is where the majority of money comes from).

EDIT: You know what city ranks behind Omaha?

Ft. Meyers. FT. MEYERS!

But they have a spring training facility there so..... LeTs GiVe ThEm A tEaM!!!11!!111oneone!!!!

:plain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
