September 16, 200521 yr Fri. 16 Lieber (14-12, 4.42) Moehler (6-9, 4.00) Sat. 17 Padilla (8-12, 4.67) Willis (21-8, 2.49) Sun. 18 Brito (1-0, 1.72) Beckett (14-8, 3.53)) You have to like the favorable match-ups we have. Lieber may be 14-12 overall, but is 6-9 on the road. Moehler actually pitches better at home although he is 1-6 primarily due to lack of run support. Willis should have little trouble winning his 22nd provided the offense shows up, and I expect they will. Brito has pitched quite well since being called up. He shut out the Braves for 6 innings in his last start, so Josh is going to have to bring his A game with him. Overall I like our chances for a series win.
September 16, 200521 yr I love having D-Train and Josh back to back, it certainly gives one hope for a series win. Personally I'm glad to see Moehler back in the rotation, I hope he can spin some of his first half magic.
September 16, 200521 yr And without conting our chickens before they hatch, the Brewers are nobody's chumps and will give the Astros a run for their money this weekend.
September 16, 200521 yr Author And without conting our chickens before they hatch, the Brewers are nobody's chumps and will give the Astros a run for their money this weekend. 947891 With Clemens and Pettitte having just pitched the Astros are going to send out Oswalt, Backe and Rodriguez. The Brewers got to Oswalt for 4 runs and handed him a loss in their match-up last week. So yes all things are possible. Go Brewers!
September 16, 200521 yr So if all goes well we can retake the lead from houston and in the process put philly behind us. Lets do it!
September 16, 200521 yr Author So if all goes well we can retake the lead from houston and in the process put philly behind us. Lets do it! 947924 That would be great, but keeping pace with Houston might be good enough. After the weekend series Houston only has 4 remaining home games with 9 on the road....and they aren't a very good road team.
September 16, 200521 yr Ssssssooooooo - Do we skip AJ & go with Jason on Tuesday? 947944 There's no way this will happen. Just have to cross our fingers that he goes back to being a pitcher again.
September 16, 200521 yr Author Ssssssooooooo - Do we skip AJ & go with Jason on Tuesday? 947944 I looked at that, but that would give us #Burnett, Vargas, Moehler for the final Atlanta series. Somehow we need to mix up the rotation though so we get either Beckett or Willis to pitch the last game....as the season may come down to it.
September 16, 200521 yr Author I believe what Jack is going to have to do is keep Willis and Beckett on normal rest, let AJ have an extra day and skip either Vargas or Moehler the next time through and then again after the last off day.
September 16, 200521 yr I may be wrong, but hasn't Padilla historically owned us? I mean, I remember a few of his past starts against us didn't exactly turn out well. And as for Brito, that's probably going to be the toughest game of the series, you know how we struggle against kids with underwhelming stuff.
September 16, 200521 yr Screw the pitching matchups...we need to win this series any way we can. We need our bats to go out and rack up some runs to sweep this series...regardless if we don't win this series our playoff hopes are dead.

Hardly dead
September 16, 200521 yr Author Every game from here on out is important. We should be in good shape if we win 10 of the last 15. 88 wins will take the wild card.
