December 12, 200520 yr He has 924 yards on the season with 5 TDs. Brown has 841 yards on the season with 4 TDs. Where the hell is Browns edge? total yards. yards per carry. yards per catch. next. His 41 total yards today in your biggest win of the season looks fantastic coming down the stretch. 52 total yards the week before in your win. Amazing. 71 total yards in the win to start your three game streak. Dynamite! And Carnell, in his one dimensional glory out gained him in all three of those games. He outgained brown in week 11. Weeks 10, 9, and 8 are the only games this year that Brown out gained Caddy. Caddy was coming back from injury. Weeks 1-3 went to Caddy in his record breaking start. Caddy, for being so one dimensional has 991 total yards in 11 games. Brown, for being the east coasts answer to LT has 1060 total yards in 14 games. Next.

Think of it like this. Factory A: Makes 100 cars out of 100,000 pounds of steel Factory B: Makes 110 cars out of 90,000 pounds of steel, but is in a bad part of town Which factory would you rather own?
December 12, 200520 yr I want whichever factory makes a Cadillac...those get better as the season progresses. You guys made a big deal of his all around numbers and yet he only has 69 more yards in 3 more games! Justify how this puts him past Williams, if anything that makes Williams case stronger.

Yards per touch. Do you think it's Ronnie's fault he doesn't get a lot of touches? Does he call the plays? Does he pull the strings on offense? Does he control game situations which dictate what the offense can do? Jesus. If you can't understand that, I dunno what you will understand. Ronnie is the more efficient player. Period.

Again, give him all of Caddy's touches in 2 less games, and see what happens.
December 12, 200520 yr And in that same breath, Williams could have 4 more touchdowns or so if Gruden wasnt infatuated with Alstott around the goal line from point blank range. It goes both ways.
December 12, 200520 yr Passion, do you really feel, in this instance, that yards per game is a more important stat than yards per carry? If you do, then fine, there's no point in arguing. We'll never come to any sort of agreement on this one. To me, though, it seems like your just punishing Brown for playing on the same team as Ricky Williams. For me, the fact that Brown has gained more ground on fewer carries/touches, is evidence that he is statistically superior. I don't want to get into the intangibles. But I really think we ought to be able to agree that this is a case of stats vs. intangibles.
December 12, 200520 yr Alstott gets it done in short yardage. I won't complain about that. I wont either, but you give Caddy the rock from point blank goaline situations and he gets in as well.
December 12, 200520 yr I am done arguing here. The only thing that matters is the Bucs will be playing in the playoffs while the Dolphins watch it from the beach. You're seriously tempting the football gods. Remember when you basically said the Bucs would start out 8-0 after easy wins against the Jets and 49ers? :shifty

But I really think we ought to be able to agree that this is a case of stats vs. intangibles. And Williams play in a stable of running backs including Mike Alstott and Michael Pittman. It goes both ways. When it comes down to it, total yards and most likely rushing yards along with team success and how they finish the season dictates how voting will go. The Dolphins are a loss away from being irrelevant this year, the Bucs will be players the next three weeks.
December 12, 200520 yr And in that same breath, Williams could have 4 more touchdowns or so if Gruden wasnt infatuated with Alstott around the goal line from point blank range. It goes both ways. There was a four or five week stretch where the Fins had five run plays inside the red zone.

You're seriously tempting the football gods. Remember when you basically said the Bucs would start out 8-0 after easy wins against the Jets and 49ers? :shifty I said we should not that we will. We could lose out and we might make the playoffs, but we still have 2 home games left, one of them agaisnt the Saints. That being said, we are not in yet.
December 12, 200520 yr So, Passion, just to be clear...your position here is that Cadillac's superior yards/game trumps Brown's superior yards/carry?
December 12, 200520 yr As for who's the offensive ROY now, it's Ronnie and I don't even think it's particularly close. As for who's going to win it at the end of the season, my guess is it'll be Cadillac simply because he doesn't have to share carries with a now-back-from-suspension Ricky Williams for 3 more games. Before it's all said and done, Cadillac will probably get to amass more total yards.

You're seriously tempting the football gods. Remember when you basically said the Bucs would start out 8-0 after easy wins against the Jets and 49ers? :shifty Should we pull up all your previous predictions? No one on this board is ever right as much as they would like to think they are so dont bring that up. But yeah, Id say you are in great situation to down play the Bucs year when they are tied for first in their division and won only one more game then your Fins last season.
December 12, 200520 yr So, Passion, just to be clear...your position here is that Cadillac's superior yards/game trumps Brown's superior yards/carry? This is comparing apples to oranges. Ronnie has 37 less carries in 2 more games! Give him that workload, in pressure situations, and see what happens.

Total Yards > Yards per carry Hypothetical situation Mr. Doobakus... RB 1 has 25 carries for 125 yards or, 5 ypc RB 2 has 2 carries for 50 yards or, 25 ypc Who is better?
December 12, 200520 yr So we should penalize Williams because of what 'could be' for Brown? No, which is why Brown is clearly the ROY as of right now. Mabdul.... Total Yards > Yards per carry Hypothetical situation Mr. Doobakus... RB 1 has 25 carries for 125 yards or, 5 ypc RB 2 has 2 carries for 50 yards or, 25 ypc Who is better? hypothetically speaking: RB 1 has more total yards in fewer plays RB 2 has fewer total yards in more plays who's better?

Thats a bigggggg reach. p.s. Statistics show that Pitt and Alstott are not taking away nearly as many carries from Caddy as Ricky does from Ronnie).
