October 31, 200520 yr Ronnie brown be rookie of the year? 114 attempts 544 yards rushing 4.8 yards per carry 3 TD 65 yards longest run from scrimmage receiving information 17 receptions 114 yards receiving 6.7 yards average 38 yards longest reception Excellent blocking when held in the pocket. He has flat laid out alot of people. He is 15th on the list for Rushing yards in the NFL Cadillac Williams 112 attempts 467 yards rushing 4.2 yards per carry 2 Touchdowns 71 yards longest run recieving information 4 receptions 11 yards recieving 2.8 yards average 5 yards longest reception He is 20th on the list for rushing yards in the NFL He has a better offensive line and has been missing multiple games from injuries But their attempts are almost identical now. Who is the better back and who will win offensive rookie of the year? I personally will admit I wanted edwards or trade out to washington for their two picks instead. But, it seems Nick did the right picks
October 31, 200520 yr ...and has been missing multiple games from injuries Exactly, so to compare stats is absurd considering Brown has played in every game.
October 31, 200520 yr Author not absurd when their attempts match the same. Durable was one of the reasons saban named for drafting ronnie over cadillac. Heck I will admit I wanted edwards over both of them personally. But, I think it should be considered.
October 31, 200520 yr I'd still pick the Cadillac. They ran him until his wheels fell off but he is still a better back.
October 31, 200520 yr Homerism aside, the raw numbers favor Brown as of right now. The most important stat is always yards per carry. And yes, health is part of the equation.
October 31, 200520 yr I was always cool with the Brown pick, so obviously I'm a genius. Brown's looked terrific ever since that 3rd game. He runs hard, bowls people over, rarely goes down on first contact, has some good moves (including a very effective spin move). He's also a good receiver and blocker. I've actually never seen Cadillac play, so I can't really make this call, but I can't imagine he's shown enough to be considered a better all-around player than Ronnie Brown.
October 31, 200520 yr not absurd when their attempts match the same. Durable was one of the reasons saban named for drafting ronnie over cadillac. had Ronnie Brown had the same amount of attemps in only 4 1/2 games instead of 7, he sure as hell wouldn't have anywhere close to Cadillac's 4.2 yards per carry

November 1, 200520 yr In the NFL its crazy to expect any RB to have 40 carries a game and thats about what Cadillac was doing. There is a reason why the Dolphins chose Ronnie over Cadillac, they felt Ronnie was a better RB. So far, the Dolphins have been proven to be right. To think otherwise is absurd. It does help Ronnie that the Dolphins and Saban arent over using him.
November 1, 200520 yr I'd still go with Ronnie, not as many questions about his durability and after an extremely slow start, he's been producing. Not much to complain about.
November 1, 200520 yr Ronnie Brown because Nick Sabaan picked him over Cadalliac and I trust Nick's knowledge of the game more than my knowledge of it. :thumbup
November 1, 200520 yr This is how i look at it Take both of their longest runs away from their stats and you. get a more realistic YPC Ronnies average becomes 4.2 and cadillacs is 3.5. Ronnie Brown seems more versitalle and can pick up the blitz better. I also believe that Brown is the better player beacuse of his desire to find a way on the field like he did in college Im interested to see what we do with ricky after the season or if he can bulk up and become a full time Full back like Alstot and Dunn.
November 1, 200520 yr How do you know Ronnie picks up the blitz better? He's made some awesome blocks and saved Gus' overthrowing ass on more than a few occassions.
November 1, 200520 yr How do you know Ronnie picks up the blitz better? He's made some awesome blocks and saved Gus' overthrowing ass on more than a few occassions. And what do you know about Cadillac that makes you think Brown is better then him?

I never said he was better at picking up the blitz, just providing anecdoatal evidence that Ronnie is good at it. /getting outta that one

December 12, 200520 yr I will take Cadillac thank you very much. Unless he gets hurt again, he's a lock for offensive ROTY...
December 12, 200520 yr I will take Cadillac thank you very much. Unless he gets hurt again, he's a lock for offensive ROTY... Huh?! Up until this afternoon, Ronnie was the unanimous decision. You think one game is going to affect the selection? I'd say that unless Ronnie completely collapses in the next 3 games, he'll win it easily. And I don't see how he could do poorly with the next two games at home against the Jets and Titans.
December 12, 200520 yr lock? how? cadillac rushing: 223 rushes, 924 yards, 4.14 yards per carry receiving: 16 receptions, 67 yards, 4.19 yards per catch 991 all purpose yards ronnie 187 rushes, 841 yards, 4.50 yards per carry 28 receptions, 208 yards, 7.43 yards per catch 1049 all purpose yards hehe
