December 12, 200520 yr I think Kyle Orton is gonna win Look at the stats. The Bears win in spite of him. If he wins the ROTY, they should've given Trent Dilfer the MVP in 2000.
December 12, 200520 yr Felo you're fighting a losing battle. Ronnie is on the fast track to the ROY unless he doesn't horribly these last 3 games Outside of your Dolphins haze, Brown isnt even that prevalent nationally. In your big win today the story was Chambers, not Brown. In the Bucs win it was Caddy. That is what will seperate them.

He's a charming guy and has a cool nickname, but damn, you'd think he was a Patriot or Steeler the way they talk him up.
December 12, 200520 yr It's hard to judge whose got the edge in media hype because obviously in the South Florida market, Ronnie Brown gets a lot of press. If the rest of the country hears more about Caddy, that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with who deserves the ROY, but it might have a lot to do with who wins it. It really doesn't matter who wins the award. Dontrelle didn't win the CY Young, but, really, who gives a crap. You gonna trade him for Cris Carpenter? It sort of matters who's the better player, and right now I'll take Ronnie, but Bucs and Phins fans may be going back and forth on this question for years.

Shocking you keep letting Sportscenter/ESPN/lame commentators skew your view on someone because of the 'hype' they recieve. You let the media dictate your opinion too much. Im sure if the media was fellating on Ronnie, it would be all good. Caddy had a bruising, powerful game and the only two touchdows in the game against Carolina, with the division on the line. Carolina has the no. 1 rush defense in the NFC and 2nd in the NFL. If what he did doesnt count for something I dont know what does.
December 12, 200520 yr REgardless of how much you hype Cadillac, everything I've seen supports Ronnie getting the ROY. Like I said, as long as he doesn't meltdown these last 3 games, it's his to lose

Considering the media votes on the ROTY, I think it's fairly legitimate to have a gripe with it when all they do is have their orifices open and lubed for the Caddy Williams ROTY campaign's penis. If it's the Heisman, I don't care, because the media doesn't mean nearly as much, but since the media votes on these awards and they're talking up one guy, it's a bit unfair.
December 12, 200520 yr I'm really confused. I've seen polls on sports center, newspapers, etc...Most if not all had Ronnie as ROY before today. Is Ronnie's neck okay? Heard he took a nasty fall in the game today. He scored a touchdown on a summersault dive for the end zone...and his head serves as his hands in the 'sault' Sadly, the retarded refs ruled it a fumble....somehow
December 12, 200520 yr REgardless of how much you hype Cadillac, everything I've seen supports Ronnie getting the ROY. Like I said, as long as he doesn't meltdown these last 3 games, it's his to lose Would that stem from the fact that what you have seen this year is Brown? I would say so. As we come down the stretch...the Bucs games will mean much more nationally then the Dolphins games do. The Bucs have the Fox national game this saturday against the Pats, if Williams has another 100+ and touchdown game...it just adds to his resume. If anyone is fading down the stretch it is already Brown. He hasnt been over 70 yards in 6 weeks. He has two 100+ yard games. On the flip side, Williams has upped his game as the Bucs are driving towards the playoffs. The 100+ game against Atlanta, 2 85+ yard games before his performance today. He has 924 yards on the season with 5 TDs. Brown has 841 yards on the season with 4 TDs. Where the hell is Browns edge?
December 12, 200520 yr Just thought I'd throw this out and get out of the conversation... Anquan Boldin won the Offensive ROTY on a horrendous Cardinals team. The Dolphins are 3 bad plays from being division leader in the AFC east. That is the most pointless argument for football ROTY. And Ronnie is the more complete player. Ronnie has done it all this year, run, catch, and block. You can't just erase the fact that Ronnie has had a pretty good YPC. Cadillac has what, 65 yards catching? Ronnie is currently the lead for Offensive ROTY. I am sorry, Cadillac is a great player, but damn Ronnie has easily been the best offensive rook in the league.
December 12, 200520 yr I wanted to point this little fact out: It is well known that good RBs usually need to get into a "groove" running the ball and punishing backs like Ronnie or even Caddy wear a defense down and use their groove to pile up the yards with the carries. Ronnie is in a bad situation as far as getting the carries he needs. We all know he started slow and took time adjusting to the NFL game. However, since week 2 he has gotten 20+ carries 2 times and in those 2 games he has hit the century mark in both: 22 for 132 against Carolina (5.7) 23 for 106 against New Orleans (4.6) His 3rd highest carry total was 17 against Buffalo for 97 (5.7). I guess what I am getting at is that it is clear, at least to me, that with more carries this ROY would not even be close. He is a better receiver and the move he put on the Bills last week with that reception in the 4th for a TD was incredible. Caddy is in a much better situation and to me, I would much rather have Ronnie.

December 12, 200520 yr When you have less carries, it usual means you have more YPC. Give Ronnie the workload Caddy has, then see what happens. It is easy when you carry the ball 37 less times in 2 more games to average more YPC.

You neglected to mention that Brown has 73 carries over the past 6 weeks, or an average of 12 carries per game. At that rate, he would have to average 8.3 ypc to get to 100 yards a game. I think that has something to do with the reasoning behind his pedestrian numbers, not to mention teams gearing up just to stop him.

December 12, 200520 yr Ronnie has more total yards on less total plays. It's pretty hard to dispute that statistical edge. Cadillac's got all the intangibles, but I'm a little surprised to see some people here voting with the intangibles over the stats.

December 12, 200520 yr I saw a poll last week on CBS or FOX during football, but I don't remember what time. I saw another poll just this week (may have been sportscenter) I swear all the announcers, analysts, etc that have talked about it say Ronnie should get it. Whether it changes after this week is debatable. But as long as Ronnie has 3 solid games, it's his. I can almost guarantee it. I think a lot of you are confusing fan hype with media hype, because the media I've seen have Ronnie as the better.
