Marlins poll on CNNSI

Featured Replies

I thought this was interesting, cause it shows what baseball fans outside of Florida think of our players. The question is which is the best Marlins player still available via trade. The options were Luis Castillo, Paul LoDuca, and Juan Pierre... The poll shows Juan Pierre leading with 56% of the vote.

Good, glad that everyone thinks that...of those three I'd most rather trade Pierre.

I agree

too bad "everyone" doesn't make the trades, GMs with actual baseball knowledge do.

First, is it me or does Delgado look like he's gained a few pounds... :shifty

Second, Lo Duca should be the next to go. We aren't to be very good anyway, get rid of the too-old/too expensive catcher and throw Willingham in the mix, maybe sign a cheap vet for compeition.

1-No, he just looks miserable  .

2-Not a fan of that, a veteran like LoDuca could help the young kids grow, and it is kind of important to try to put a mix of veterans and kids when rebuilding...lots of losing just doesn't help anyone progress. Plus, the more I think about this, the more I really like our lineup for next season (assuming no more changes). The combined power numbers from our 3-4-5 hitters probably won't be all that off from our 3-4-5 this year (considering that neither Conine nor Lowell exactly smacked the cover off the ball). I'm just worried about the pitching, like who exactly's going to close out games. If Olsen and Johnson stay healthy, .500 may not be impossible, and there's always room for overachieving.

1. It does look like Delgado is forcing that smile and the big thumbs up is purely for show.

2. Agree 100%. LoDuca to bring along our young pitching staff and Castillo to help develop Ramirez and Jacobs. The only reason I would like to see Pierre stay is he is a great lead-off hitter...and yes I expect him to get back to previous form.

Uh, Luis is not going anywhere.

I really can't express my thoughts more clearly.

Of that bunch, Luiy is easily the best player. But I don't see any of them being moved anymore, honestly.
