Jovo's sent signals that he doesn't want to re-sign with Vancouver, so he's going to be on the FA market this offseason regardless. If the deal could somehow not include Bouwmeester, I'd be more receptive to it. However, I don't think any Luongo blockbuster happens until he's given a contract offer in January.
December 1, 200520 yr the sharks gave up 3 former 1st rounders .... as a sharks fan I still like this move stuart is one of the most gifted defensivemen in the league, he just occasionally goes through moments where he loses focus or something that will make him slump marco sturm is a very good player ... he really started to develop during the last season, and unfortunately got injured before going into the playoffs ... .he's an aggressive young player, can work the corners and get the puck on the net primeau is a big guy who does many things well and nothing superb .... i don't see this as a big loss the sharks gave up a lot and got a lot ... boston just improved across the board, while giving up some of their top end performance ... this should work for the needs of both team i'll miss marco (one of my favorites) and it will be sad to see stuart go ... wayne is whatever
December 1, 200520 yr I'm a long-time Bruins fan, and this deal sucks. The front office are morons, your goaltenders give up over three goals per game apiece...so you trade your captain and leading scorer for older players with less talent. Genius! I remember why I got sick of hockey now.
December 1, 200520 yr Brad Stuart just turned 26, was the 3rd pick in the draft, goes 6'2" 215 ... in 99/00 he led the sharks defensivemen in scoring and was 2nd in the Calder voting ...... in 00/01 - 01/02 he played solid as well ........ 02/03 he was injured and then in 03/04 he put up 39 points, +9, 34 PIM and played very well in the playoffs as the sharks advanced deep ... remember, defensivemen take time to really emerge and he is about to hit his prime and will be very good Marco Sturm is 27 and was the 21st pick in his draft .... he's had 3 straight 20 goal seasons, puts in about 13% of his shots, stand 6'0 195 and plays very fast and physical ... trust me, you'll like this guy Primeau is older at 29, but was the 17th pick in his draft ... big guy at 6'4" 230 ......... more of an assist guy who can work the corners, keep the zone, etc ... personally i think he is very replaceable, but very solid at all aspects We all know about Thornton ... he is a great individual player and I'm looking forward to seeing him play with the Sharks ..... but the players the sharks provided are pretty good as well and Marco & Stuart both have good scoring potential The main thing I'm suprised about is that Boston didn't try and take a nab at one of the sharks young goalies .. with Toskala struggling and the 3rd stringer playing pretty well, i think the Bruins could of gotten Toskala ... he had a GAA average of about 2 last season, but has been a little off this year ... the Bs probably could of gotten themselves a player

December 3, 200520 yr and the sharks are up 5-0 early in the 2nd at buffalo and thornton has 2 assists granted it's against the sabres, but it's a road game and the sharks PP looks worlds better
