December 6, 200520 yr Sorry if this was already posted, but I just read on Rotoworld that Vina is trying to make a comeback and it mentions him as a possible replacement for Luis Castillo... A few years back, Vina was a great player. I would love to see the Marlins sign him to a minor league deal and invite him to Spring Training...
December 6, 200520 yr Ya having a little veteran presence in ST could prove beneficial. But I should hope that the FO is at least trying to trade for a young 2B prospect.
December 6, 200520 yr Fernando Vina, now that was a real good player. I believe lead the league many times in being hit by pitches, a tough out, and premier defender, I had forgotten about him until you guys just mentioned him, he played for the Cards riight? Is he signing with us for real"? Have you guys heard anything also about Rey Ordonez, I spoke to him in a barber shop I go to in Hialeah, and he told me he was also going to attempt a comeback with the Marlins who are going to make him some kinda offer. But the Vina rumor can be good if it comes true, and if he does real good, we can always trade him for propsects at the deadline ;-).
December 6, 200520 yr Vina was also good at getting in front of Albert Belle, who remembers that HE HE HE HE
December 6, 200520 yr Vina was also good at getting in front of Albert Belle, who remembers that HE HE HE HE LOL! I remember! Vina is old but would be a soild Veteran if we were able to get him for league min. Id take a shot a him, teach a little something to the kids...
December 6, 200520 yr Vina is done as a viable major league option, unless he found the magical elixir to make him young again in the past year.
