Uh, Finley was at the Angels NOT Dodgers.

 

Maybe Finley will play 1B now that Snow has gone? Or Alou goes to 1B and Finley plays LF?

I don't know why they would take Finley out of CF.. seems to me the logical choice would be Winn in LF, Finley in CF, Alou in RF and you know who at 1B.

 

..or is Finley just going to be a reserve? After the season he had last year, that probably would be the smart thing.

The Giants starting outfield will be Barry Bonds in LF, Randy Winn in CF, and Moises Alou in RF.

 

Steve Finley will not be playing 1b. He's going to be used as a 4th outfielder. However, since the Giants outfield is pretty old, he's gonna get plenty of playing time. Barry is expected to play no more than 120 games and Moises Alou should get some needed rest as well... I like this move. The Giants are basically going to be rotating 4 starting outfielders all season long. If one gets hurt, Finley can play anywhere out there.... And don't forget Mark Sweeney that can also play 1b, LF, and RF.

I was wondering about that... What happens to Todd Linded and Jason Ellison? I guess one of three things will happen:

 

1) Linded or Ellison are on the 25 man roster as a 6th OF (I doubt this one), since Sweeney is also an OF

2) Both go back down to AAA for another year (Lord knows we'll need some OF help in 2007)

3) Use them as trade bait to get a 1b or another SP

I realized that Finley was with the Angels and not the Dodgers earlier this morning....i was in a state of daze yesterday...but then why would the Angels want Alfonzo, i guess he will become a utility guy, cause they have McPherson at 3B and Chone Figgins at 2B....intresting

I read that Figgins will get a lot of playing time in CF this season. And Alfonzo will probably platoon with McPherson at 3b, along with getting some playing time at 2b.

Does anyone else have trouble keeping track of what teams Finley plays for?

 

Orioles, Astros, Padres, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Giants. Am I missing anyone? Ah, the Angels.
