August 31, 200323 yr Author I wanna see Weathers bean Thome and break his hand tomorrow and see what all you Phillies fans say. Wait a second, I hope that doesn't happen because it wouldn't be something I'd wish or defend on my worst enemy.
August 31, 200323 yr the marlins will hit someone tomorrow. probably vlad. thats how baseball has always been played. yeah. if pedro or roger pitched for us or Bob Gibson came back, they would break someone's helmet tommorrow
August 31, 200323 yr I wanna see Weathers bean Thome and break his hand tomorrow and see what all you Phillies fans say. Cape, I would like to thank you for that post. I had a bad day today and that made me laugh.
August 31, 200323 yr Too bad Almanza is on the DL. If we want someone to bean someone else, Almanza would be the no-brainer choice for me to bring in i think you said it as a joke but that actually makes sense

August 31, 200323 yr Author How many believe that Rune is actually happy that Lowell is out for the season?
August 31, 200323 yr How many believe that Rune is actually happy that Lowell is out for the season? He is, That's why he is defending Almonte. He is a Phillies fan after all and they are know for being the most distasteful fans around.
August 31, 200323 yr How many believe that Rune is actually happy that Lowell is out for the season? If I were a Philly fan, I'd be ecstatic. The funny thing is that I don't think this will hurt our team. I honestly think they'll become closer and bond with the loss or our big bat. Prove that they can win w/o the star.

August 31, 200323 yr Author Short term, Lowell's loss won't hurt us since he has been slumping and we have been pounding the Expos using other sources. But later this month when we play the NL East, when Lowell usually comes alive, we will feel it.
August 31, 200323 yr He is, That's why he is defending Almonte. He is a Phillies fan after all and they are know for being the most distasteful fans around. a few things #1 fish fan....one, i hope when you added that "distasteful" comment on the end of your post, that you meant it as a side comment and not as something to actually provoke us (philly fans), and two, i hope you actually don't mean that comment. the most ignorant people in the world are the ones who generalize about a country/city/town or anything else in any aspect of information - people who put adjectives synonomous with things, in this case, philly fans being "distasteful". Well, i'll tell you something, Philadelphia fans are some of the most passionate, loyal and competitive fans that belong to professional sports. At times, our standards are high, but thats only because we haven't won a professional championship in 20 years now, you guys had a world series a few years ago. I hope not all of you are like him (#1 fish fan). I come here to read your threads and posts because I truly respect your opinions. You're baseball fans, as am I. You have different views on things because you're pulling for a different team, thats how it works. As I recall yesterday as well #1 fish fan, I think it was you who angered a lot of people on the Marlins game thread with some posts you made. Let your posts reflect your human image.
August 31, 200323 yr do you see everything as a cheesy disney movie? When times are low, I tihnk you have to.
August 31, 200323 yr Author When times are low, I tihnk you have to. Very true. The essence of the human spirit is hope.
August 31, 200323 yr Short term, Lowell's loss won't hurt us since he has been slumping and we have been pounding the Expos using other sources. I wouldn't say we've been pounding the expos. We've won 2 games by a total of 2 runs. Our offense is still not all the way back and losing Lowell is not going to help at all.

There are know for being distasteful....I wasn't provoking Phillies fans, You seem to be alright. But from what I've seen during the games they seem distasteful. I would bet If Scott Rolen was plunked in the hand at Veteran Stadium the fans would cheer. Also during the game threads it was Mikebball angering ME and other people Here's the link:Link
August 31, 200323 yr Very true. The essence of the human spirit is hope. Well, I believe in our teams case, the cheesy disney movie ending is feasable. This team has been built on heart all seaosn, and that won't change. They all realize that they now have to work that much harder at everything they do. If we don't get anyone, I don't think we make the playoffs, but I don't think we fall behind very far. If we get a Sanders or Stairs ect., We can slip into October.
August 31, 200323 yr alright, i understand now. so he provoked you, as i thought you might have been provoking me. we're all fans of baseball, just different teams. and yes, a negative stereotype is a real b*tch sometimes. Joe Morgan and John...whatever did the Phils/Cards on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball the other week and they couldn't stop talking about the fans and their tenacious booing of Scott Rolen....then they proceeded to say "Polanco hits a ground ball to Boo Rolen who throws to first for an out" ... I wanted to kill them. Losing Mike Lowell from your offense would be like us losing Abreu or Thome, it's likely to hurt you when you have your NL divisional play. Hopefully, for you guys, your pitching can pull through, the D-train can get back on track and the bullpen can stay steady.
August 31, 200323 yr im going to watch the Mighty Ducks now, should i stop after the 1st one, or should endure the torture and watch all 3? :shifty
August 31, 200323 yr im going to watch the Mighty Ducks now, should i stop after the 1st one, or should endure the torture and watch all 3? :shifty I actually enjoy all of those movies. They're pretty inspirational. I have #1 on DVD I say endure all 3! :mischief2

That was tasteless, Rolen had his reasons and so did the Phans. Thank you for the kind words.

That's where I came up with the generalization about the fans, Joe Morgan and John during that game. But from the comment about wishing luck with Lowell and Willis, shows class coming from a Phillies fan.
