Vlad's first AB tomorrow

Featured Replies

He should be hit. It might be bad baseball and could start a brawl but it must be done. I will be really shocked if this doesn't happen.

That's unprofessional and completely unethical. If they hit Lowell intentionally, that should not be the way we answer back. I still think Almonte did it on purpose, the guy is a pig. But I don't believe he was told to do that.

I was listening to the game on radio, so I didn't see the pitch that hit Mike. But, I was amazed when Vladimer got up the next inning that he wasn't dusted off or given a little chin music. Would have created umpire's warning but would have made a statement. (I wouldn't want Pavonno to nail Vlady because it could have caused an ejection that we can't afford.)

Can umpires warn both benches before the game starts? I think they can. If they do, and Redman hits somebody, he'll be ejected and possibly suspended. We can't afford to lose anybody else. As hard as it might be, we have to let this one go.

No, they can't. They can hit Vlad first inning, benches clear but no fight, warnings issued, and they move on.

Yeah, they can. Rule 8.02(d) states:

If, in the umpire's judgment, circumstances warrant, both teams may be officially "warned" prior to the game or at any time during the game.

That's unprofessional and completely unethical.

I know! :w00t

If we don't do it today, Penny will come through tomorrow hopefully!

Who cares about this unprofessional crap? Oh no, will we not get a gold star on the fridge? Bean him. I love it!

Mark Redman wont hit no one. He isnt that type of pitcher but Penny WILL hit someone if needed and if he hits Vlad you know there will be suspensions issued to Penny and Vlad. If you know what i mean....

I think we have to throw at vlad even if almonte didnt do it intentionaly, because he intentionaly went inside, and they need to make a statement that if you throw way inside your gona pay for it******

We need to throw at someone. Hell, kids in High School still throw at people after someone is hit. I believe that's the way to handle it. Frank Robinson knows that's how we will handle it, and McKeon will handle it that way.

It seems very simple to me....

If you don't think it was intentional you let it go.

It you think it was intentional you have Redman put a heater in somebody's earhole.

You can't risk a suspension now during the most crucial month of the season. Forget about beaning anyone, that doesn't make a statement but for those with high levels of testosterone. Winning makes a better statement than sending Guerrero to the ground.

your suppose to go inside, if you dont your going to get rocked everytime you go out. you need to be able to go inside.

i agree with fish fillet, if they feel it was intentional than they need to respond. it doesnt have to be the starter, it could be a reliever that we rarely use if a warning has been issued. but i agree with Furman, no earhole, a nice hard fastball to the a**

It's baseball...

its baseball but you dont want to kill someone or give him a concussion. i nice fastball to the a** or to the ankles (make him eat dirt)

Send it at someones head. I'm sorry but that's how I feel. Our superstar is down, so out theirs down.

Almonte hit Lowell's wrist!

You throw at someone's head and get between the helmet, their is a strong chance of killing the guy, you senseless fool! If Vlad were to be seriously injured by that or even possibly killed and it obviously would be intentional, the pitcher will then face criminal charges.

Today we just need to appear cool and collective and defuse the situation....then on Labor day, in front of a big crowd, Penny can throw a 96 mph fastball up and in accidently hitting a certain Vladimir Guerrero. It was only a wild pitch, sorry to break his wrist. :devil
