Marlins out options?

Featured Replies

Its been a very dark 12 hrs in Fishland. The Marlins have been on the phone all night talkin to scouts and personal men To see what move should be made before the end of today. As we all know today is the final day of waiver-trades, so a player has to be on the roster to be included on your playoff roster. I heard the Marlins were lookin over the list of players that had already cleared waivers to see if a move could be made. The talk by some scouts was to call-up Josh Willingham and play him at 3B or LF. They feel his bat could be ready but some in the organization aren't too sure. Plus, he is still slowed by his recent knee surgery. The organization don't have too much confidence in Abe Nunez for a playoff push. I was told this morning that Beinfest was very disappointed that Reggie Sanders didn't clear waivers but I haven't been able to confirm that. The options are few and far. The only trade I see is someone like a Matt Stairs. Someone that can get here before the end of the day but IMO the Marlins stand pat :confused

LET'S JUST HOPE THIS TEAM RALLIES AND DOESN'T GIVE-UP

Please no Matt Stairs....i would perfer Willingham! I Agree with the article that Abe Nunez wont be no play off push. I dont really like him coming up this year.

Edcanes, What do you think of Conine? And isn't he available "today"? Read earlier today a post herein saying Conine can't play left field. I don't believe that.

Conine can play LF...He played Left for a while in our organization until we aquired Moises Alou. Not to mention he made a top play this year in left....A jumping catch that brought back a homerun.

Conine is also available...

Please no Matt Stairs....

Why not? You could put Stairs in against righties (crushes right-handed pitching) and put Banks in against lefties.

Here's something I could use a scout "If this injury had happen a week ago, we all know who the guy would be." (speaking of Rondell White). Its funny because the two guys that were talked about in that deal were in the news this week.(the other being Castro)

WE WILL NEVER BE OUT OF OPTION! Put Castro out there if it gets that desperate!

brilliant.

so ever single gets played into a triple?

i love it....

why is everyone so damn excited about Conine?

it takes a while for most hitters to adjust from one league to another

Why is everyone so doom and gloom? It is only one position, we have several players who can fill it well.

This is a nonissue, I can't wait to see who Jack puts in to play.

Only one position? not only was he club leader in HR's, RBI's, the best defensive 3B in the NL...but he also was the clubhouse leader. I think you are marginalizing Lowell's contribution to this team.

I know its not your intention (I hope) but you sound excited to see who will be replacing the best player on the team like your glad hes gone or something. Strange.

The fact that hes not going to be on the field or in the lineup will minimize the importance of that title. Dont you think?

Not at all. I think his leadership role will actually increase, because now he can sit in the dugout with the young call-ups and the others and help "tutor".

YAY! He can now sit in the dugout and help develop all of our youngins!

:lol

I know, it would be better to have him at the hot corner. But having him on the bench helping out our future somewhat can't hurt.

brilliant.

Well ramp, I dont think its a good Idea, but it is possible. Castro can catch and Pudge can play LF or even 3rd. Cabrera only played 1 game in the minors of LF until being called up. Pudge has been shagging balls at both positions for a while.

Its not the ideal move, but it is an option. Its not the best option though.
