Mr. Marlin's Impact

this is terrible. I guess all the Lee-haters are happy. I am not. We will feel the effects of not having Lee next year I guess. Unfortunately, it's the only the Lee-haters will realize how valuable he really is.

lol, AS MVP. First of all. The All Star game is a joke. 2ndly, he had a pinch hit HR. Woopee! A pinch hit HR 5 or so years ago. Awesome. That helps us how?

HURRAY! We could have had Lee for 2 more million.

Derrek Lee won't be half as successful in Florida that he can be somewhere else. Conine has had proven success in Pro Player. If we can get more production from a vet with a $2 Mill coupon, why the hell not?

You honestly think Conine will produce more then Lee?

I'm a HUGE Lee fan. Being the Lee fan that I am, I would love for him to go somewhere else so he can be as successful as I know he will be.

Just look at Conine's stats, and look at Lee's. There's no doubt Lee is a better player in any stadium EXCEPT for Pro Player. We happen to play in Pro Player, where Conine has success and Lee doesn't.

Lee .258 /26/72

Conine .290/15/80

better average more ribbies less homeruns though, conines looks a little better

So by changing the staduim around Conine magically becomes a better hitter? I doubt you even looked at the stats and are just pulling this out of your a**. I need to leave this board for awhile before I throw my monitor out the window.

My friend just put the stats up.

ANd I know for a fact Conine is a career . 300 hitter at the Pro and Lee is, off the top of my head, a career . 240 hitter at the Pro.

Your point is?

It's been how long since Conine played regular games at the pro?

And yet, Conine is still just as good a hitter as he was when he left in '97.

Some of you guys make me wonder if you have any sense at all. You don't remember how bad Hollandsworth and Banks were as starters. Before Cabrera got called up Hollandsworth was batting well under .250 as a starter and Banks has been just above .200 all season. And Hollandsworth was almost non-existent as a run-producer. I hear everyone talking about it's only a difference of 5-hits. We are tied for the lead in the wild card with 5 other teams right behind us those 5-hits could be the difference between making the playoffs and not making the playoffs.

5 extra hits could be 3 to 4 more wins.....

dont underestimate... THE HIT...

and when Conine knocks in 3 runs today, all will be forgotten(well atleast by most)

When was the last time conine played in pro player/miami?

Does it matter? He's still putting up great numbers.

I tihnk the last time Conine played at the Pro was in an interleague series in the middle of July, 2001.

lol. Yah. 2 season ago. I bet Lee has hit a HR in PPS more recently than Conine has. Guaranteed.

Don't be so sure... :lol

people just have this assumption that Conine is the same player he was 5-6-7 years ago

Check the stats.

He is.
