January 27, 200620 yr The Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a trade that will send Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Marcus Banks, Justin Reed and two future second-round draft picks to Minnesota for Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi and rookie Dwayne Jones, I don't really get the move for either side.
January 27, 200620 yr Who are the other 6? Could potentially be a nice move by Boston. Perhaps, but we are talking about Ainge. And that's the beauty of Danny Ainge.
January 27, 200620 yr Davis to Minnesota has been floated around in the past.. I think KG and Ricky are friends
January 27, 200620 yr Anyone else hearing the Doleac for Nocioni rumors? Can't see it happening though.
January 27, 200620 yr Anyone else hearing the Doleac for Nocioni rumors? Can't see it happening though. there is no way the bulls can be that stupid. oh and btw...if you have no real constructive comment stay out.

January 27, 200620 yr MN gets rid of the bad wally contract, but picks up an equally as bad blount contract kandi comes off the books after this season davis should fit in better in MN as he is an aggressive scorer who can create seems like a trade that does little for either side

January 27, 200620 yr Ricky isn't too bad when he's under control and as for Blount, maybe he will feed off of KG's intensity and Banks has tremendous potential. Good deal for Wolves.
January 27, 200620 yr as a celtic fan am sad to see ricky go but am happy we got a 7 FOOTER in return and wally who is playing like an all-star again.....
January 27, 200620 yr Ah but that 7 footer is the infamous Kandi Man who is one of the worst centers I've ever seen.
January 27, 200620 yr Ah but that 7 footer is the infamous Kandi Man who is one of the worst centers I've ever seen. very tru but........Ainge did it to get rid of the of the contract of another 7ft bum in Blount.....now he doesn't have to give him 42mil and can use that money in the offseason to get someone else.....
January 28, 200620 yr wow, minnesota gets redemption for that horrible piece of trash contract they gave the kandi man. not that blount is much better.....
January 28, 200620 yr The big difference being that Kandi's contract is up at the end of the year and Blount is signed until like 2010. I actually like this deal for Boston. If I'm gonna be stuck with a big contract for a while, I'd rather be stuck with Wally's then Blount. The trade listed above doesn't include the 1st round pick Boston got.
January 28, 200620 yr Bottom line is that Boston makes no sense. That first rounder has so many conditions on it that it wont be a good one and if it is, it wont be a good one for some 5 years or so. Its kinda like a who cares type pick, one thats defintely geared to the future. Ya be riddled with the Wally contract over the Blount one. Its just a matter of trading one problem for another. I really dont get this deal other than trying to move stuff around for who knows what reason. Maybe Boston will want Rasho. Then we can stick Candi on our bench and start some real players for the rest of the year. Maybe Ainge is that stupid. I wouldnt put it past him afterall.

Yeah, except Wally puts up 15+ a game while Blount is just a useless stiff. I mean, don't get me wrong, Ainge is an awful GM, but this one wasn't a bad move.
