February 4, 200620 yr I don't want to overload this thread with political stuff, because unfortunately only 20% (and that's really making that number high on my part) of the people actually care about government "for the people by the people," but I'd be happy to speak about is elsewhere. In a nutshell, a lot of the people in the world are poor. That's true. But in other news, in the microwave world we have to realize that one entire continent hasn't gone through the Industrial Revolution yet, one entire continent has been completely and totally mismanaged since they garnared their independence 150+ years ago, and half of the world's eastern most continent had been completely shut off to the world up until 50 years ago and hadn't been completely introduced to humanity until maybe 3 decades ago. It's fun and gives a nice bleeding heart image that you can say 5 billion out of the 6 billion people on this planet are very poor, but it's not so cute until you actually understand why those numbers are how they are. And then, once you actually understand the numbers, you can once you have come about a possible solution work towards improving it. Or, I guess, we could do the fun thing and just blame the United States for it. Everybody's doing it.

I'm highly educated and understand more than you think. I've never blamed the U.S. for world poverty. One way or the other poverty around the world is a problem that we should be looking to solve.
February 4, 200620 yr I know you're very educated. While I was addressing my overall response to you, my criticism was not directed at you since I specifically quoted someone who spoke earlier.
