February 27, 200620 yr I'm making a list of movies that everyone absolutely has to see before they die. Feel free to chime in on movies you think need to be added and why if it isn't a no-brainer. My list thus far: The Boondock Saints The Devil's Advocate Snatch Office Space The Godfather Trilogy The Indiana Jones Trilogy Episodes IV-VI of Star Wars Star Trek II, Star Trek IV, and Star Trek VIII At least four James Bond movies, two of which must star Sean Connery as Bond Patton Apocalypse Now Platoon Se7en Pulp Fiction Caddyshack Major League Field of Dreams Hoosiers Rudy The Natural Wall Street American Beauty The Matrix Trilogy Nightmare on Elm Street The Exorcist Halloween (original) 2001: A Space Odyssey American History X And my two controversial picks: Big Trouble in Little China- Deep down inside, you know you love how absolutely terrible this movie is. Gremlins- They're just so cute and cuddly

February 27, 200620 yr Grr, Scarface and The Untouchables as well Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault Cual? ...Sorry to be ignorant but what does Cual mean? Edit: Also One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is an amazing movie.
February 27, 200620 yr Cual means which I didn't know there were more than 1 version, it's the one with Don Cheadle.
February 27, 200620 yr Grr, Scarface and The Untouchables as well Rebound: The Legend of Earl 'The Goat' Manigault Cual? It was an HBO movie starring Don Cheadle. It was good, but I don't think people will be missing that much if they die having not seen it.
February 27, 200620 yr I'll break mine up into categories, 5 in each: War Das Boot Braveheart Zulu Full Metal Jacket Saving Private Ryan Black Hawk Down Gladiator Drama A Beautiful Mind Rain Man Raging Bull Traffic Goodfellas Taxi Driver The Silence Of The Lambs Action Heat Die Hard Reservoir Dogs Dirty Harry The French Connection Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 Sin City Pulp Fiction Comedy The 40 Year Old Virgin Clerks Fletch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Animal House Stripes Documentary Hoop Dreams Murderball All I can think of right now, I will be coming back often.
February 27, 200620 yr It was an HBO movie starring Don Cheadle. It was good, but I don't think people will be missing that much if they die having not seen it. That was my point, pretty much.
February 27, 200620 yr Add: Schindler's List The Pianist The Good, The Bad, The Ugly Requiem For A Dream
February 27, 200620 yr My favorites: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind The Truman Show Lost In Translation Spirited Away Donnie Darko Groundhog Day Say Anything Mission: Impossible Pee Wee's Big Adventure The Princess Bride Magnolia Braveheart Aliens Amadeus High Noon Before Sunset The Neverending Story There are tons of other movies I love, but those are the ones that have meant the most to me. It was an HBO movie starring Don Cheadle. It was good, but I don't think people will be missing that much if they die having not seen it. That was my point, pretty much. Well, really, to each his own, I guess. I like that movie more than 7 of the movies on your list...and that's only counting the ones I've seen, so I can't count the Star Trek movies, for example.
February 27, 200620 yr Well, really, to each his own, I guess. I like that movie more than 7 of the movies on your list...and that's only counting the ones I've seen, so I can't count the Star Trek movies, for example. Thing is, I went more for classics than movies I liked. I obviously threw in some of my all time favorites, but a couple of the movies on my list I don't even think are that great. You just have to see them because of what they mean. Take Halloween for example. I really don't think it's that special of a movie, but the character of Mike Myers is such a famous one in movie lore that it's worth watching just to become acquanted with him. I also just thought of a couple more: Citizen Kane and Casablanca
February 27, 200620 yr Back to the Future Young Frankenstein Blazing Saddles Monty Python and Holy Grail
February 27, 200620 yr Citizen Kane Casablanca Lawrence of Arabia Seven Samurai The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly The Shining Psycho North by Northwest Birth of a Nation To Kill a Mockingbird Taxi Driver LA Confidential Blade Runner Ben-Hur The Ten Commandments The Thing Bonnie and Clyde This Is Spinal Tap

I also just thought of a couple more: Citizen Kane and Casablanca Fair enough. But the last two movies of the Matrix trilogy, for example, will never be found on a list of classic movies. They're two of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I fell asleep during both of them.
February 27, 200620 yr Hoop Dreams Momento Hotel Rwanda Crash It's A Wonderful Life The Godfather Pulp Fiction All very good films that hung with me for a long, long time. EDIT: Just so it's clear, these are not my favorite films, just the ones I think everyone should see at one point of another, as they are very important (Rwanda, Dreams) or are very good story telling (Wonderful Life, Crash, Momento).
