That makes me sick. NFL is a joke.

the real joker is the one who gets caught 30749874896 fricken times with this. at some point a light bulb in that head of his shoulda lit up.

I'd like to know the substance and if this story is actually confirmed and not just Jason Cole spewing garbage out of his mouth.

If in fact it was marijuana then you have a point. I am making my statement on the basis that it wasn't pot. :hat

:thumbup

He was going to have an awesome year, too. Brown in now for the year. :confused

they said before it wasnt pot. but that is besides the point he knew how many strikes he had against him and then next one was it for him he shoulda been a little more careful. if he wasn't a dumb@$$ and got caught smoking pot a bunch of times before this wouldnt of mattered.

We'll be fine. Ronnie is ready...

But Im still f***ing pissed. Maybe if they hadn't rushed the decision...

Great he is a dumbass. I occasionally smoke pot too does that make me a dumbass? I have a great career and life. The bottomline is Ricky was on the track to get his life back in order. I imagine that this substance had to do with his rehab/yoga/world travelling or whatever he is doing. Well if he is being penalized for using a natural substance that is only going to better his life and not enhance his playing ability then I think this is a poor decision. We got guys in the league who beat women, assault people, steal, and possibly kill and they get nothing but a wrist slap.

but ricky knew these tests were coming it wasn't out of the blue he was like a third time offender so he gets tested an insane amount of times. could he not just have asked the guy one time he met up with 'em like "hey can i take this?" but he didn't have the common sense to do that.

ricky smokes weed and gets busted going 100+ mph on the highway, good combination. i am sure he has smoked some weed then went blazin' down the road at least once and that is just a dandy thought.

and yeah randy mcmichael and the rest of those guys are lowlifes who do that, but they have to answer to a higher power like the police. i dont think you can get arrested for testing positive for pot at your workplace, nfl or joe's deli. you go kill someone yeah that'll get you in trouble with the law its not the nfls place to rule their players off the field that is really up to the law. they do the drug testing to protect the players and their product on the field. they are a private business and have stipulations in place of what is and isnt allowed in their employees bodies.

Ricky was aware of the rules...and if he wasn't, he should've been. How many times have we heard the excuse that the ballplayer didn't realize he was taking an illegal substance? That excuse doesn't cut it anymore. ESPECIALLY with someone like Ricky who has a history of drug suspensions. This is Ricky's fault; he deserves the suspension. It's the NFL's job to enforce the rules.

The funny thing about all of this is that we probably care more than Ricky. He's probably smoking a bud over in India or somewhere thinking about what to do with himself over the next year...and just smiling.

Say what you want but he has clearly said Pot is not part of his life anymore.

Apparently this story has been confirmed.

Bummer. I was a huge fan of Rickys game. Just wasnt fond of some of his off field choices.

I agree, Ricky's probably relieved this happened.

Hopefully this doesn't change the early round draft strategy as I'd hate to see the #2 overall pick last year wasted (eventhough I wasn't a fan of taking Brown at the time and still feel the same way, you have to play him).

Ricky still has to pay back the money and it wasn't weed, some herb similar to speed or cocaine fuel? I don't know, I heard Mortenson say something like that.

This is probably true. Probably not. I truely believe he is a different man. From his interviews it just seems as though he was in a better place in life and pot is not a part of it. Obviously I do not talk to him so I don't know. Just taking this from observations.

Ricky issued a statement on ESPN that he respects the decision of the NFL and looks forward to playing with the Phins in 2007.

He has to be the dumbest player in the league. How many chances have they given him? And after he was allowed to come back, he risked doing something that would make him fail a drug test. I dont understand it.

I dont think any dolphin fan should still like him. He WALKED out on the team before training camp, has failed multiple drug tests, and only returned last year because he lost an appeal that made him pay his contract. Then he repays the team by failing again.
