Posted April 26, 200619 yr ARLINGTON, Texas -- Kevin Mench set a Texas Rangers record by homering in his sixth straight game Wednesday. Mench hit a grand slam in the fourth inning against Oakland's Kiko Calero, who had just entered the game in relief of starter Rich Harden. The major league record for consecutive games with a home run is eight, shared by Ken Griffey Jr., Don Mattingly and Dale Long. Carl Everett (April 2003), Alex Rodriguez (August 2003) and Mark Teixeira (July 2004) all homered in five straight games for Texas. It was Mench's second grand slam in his streak, and his third career slam. He has 20 RBI this season, all in the last six games. Yea, he's had a pretty good week
April 26, 200619 yr With all the attention on performance-enhancing drugs, why is Mench?s use of performance-enhancing shoes being ignored?
