During her appearance at California's Coachella music festival on Sunday, Madonna attacked President Bush using foul-mouthed, highly offensive language during a rendition of her song, "I Love New York." Changing the lyrics, she screamed at the crowd, "Just go to Texas and suck George Bush's ****," reports World Entertainment News Network.

Just tell madonna to not ride anymore horses

Yeah...

Madonna.

She's still such a huge star.

Keep putting out those lame techno albums, honey. When's your husband's next movie coming out?

Just tell madonna to not ride anymore horses

Big Daddy Kane is not a horse. :hat

but rodman is................

this lady is a joke - please go back to england - stay there

a shame, because she used to be so creative and relevant - now she is neither and she can't let it og

Yeah...

ohh I cant wait for that

Wow, gotta love Celebs that think their political opinions hold so much weight.

...and moved.

So? It's her opinion whether you like it or not.

Since when was freedom of speech a crime in this country?

Since when was freedom of speech a crime in this country?

It's not.

She's allowed her opinion.

Just like I'm allowed to express mine. She sucks, regardless of her political leanings. I'm sick of talentless celebrities acting like their opinion matters and using their fame as a lectern for saying whatever, as if it matters. You're an entertainer; entertain.

But, I guess she's right, if she's saying Bush sucks. I just think she could have said it more literately.

Exactly. Yea, celebs, esp. Madonna, are very opinionated, but they still have a right to express it.

Spot on.

I love how she mouthed off about a political figure she can't even vote against and had no voice prior to the elections.

It's one thing if she was asked, but while performing? Lame.

I just assumed she'd be more worried about putting out a listenable song, but that's me.

Its like when the Dixie Chicks expressed themselves a few years ago about George. Everybody and their mothers turned against them because they weren't being "patriotic". Celebs have just as much right to sound off against the issues as Joe Blow or anyone of us do.

:lol either that or worried about not being a sh*tty actress

No, it wasn't because people said they weren't being 'patriotic'.

They said they were ashamed Bush was from Texas.

Did they not realize who their core audience is? LOL. Career suicide, and that backlash is still going on today.

yep .. you can express yourself - but guess what, that knife cuts both ways

i'm free to say that your opinion means little and that i find it repulsive for you to shove your opinion down the throats of thousands of people who paid to see you do your job - which isn't political punditry

The majority of Madonna's fans aren't fans of Bush either. So, I don't see it as shoving her opinion down people's throats.

one it wasn't just her show

two - who are you to speak on her fanbase?!

i know if i buy tickets to a show, i want to see the entertainment that comes with that show - if I want political talk, i'll turn on the TV or go to a lecture and listen to qualified experts who actually live here and follow the scene

I am part of that fanbase and I am friends with many of her fans who can't stand Bush. It's not like I am talking out of my ass.

I agree with Phx, even if you talk to 50 Madonna fans it's epistemically irresponsible to categorize them all "anti-Bush." That'd be like saying Republicans don't listen to/like pop muzack.

First of all, what the hell is the point of saying go telling an audience to 'go to Texas and 'suck' Bush's 'member'?

What is she personally getting out of that? Is that even a political statement?

I agree with phx, perform that is the only reason you (and like entertainers) are known because you can sing and dance.

Now if she was at a rally, a political function, or asked...more power to her...but it is all sorts of lame to change lyrics to one of her songs telling the crowd to blow someone.

And agreed with the previous posts, you can't group a fanbase in anything.

Go to her fan club and ask them their opinion on Bush and see what reaction you get.

So, a "fan club" is an accurate representation how all the people who buy her albums or go to her concert feels or even votes politically? Come on, you don't really believe that, do you?

yeah i really didn't understand the whole statement...i mean were they booing her or something because why the hell else would you tell the audience to go suck GWB's dick?
