Mostly Every Team has it's Keepers

TRADE WILLIS??? TRADE CABS???

what are we talking about? How is this even a consideration? Most teams have certain players that they will not trade period. Maybe we can offer Olson and Jacobs plus a few million to the Cards for Albert.

The cards would just say...he's not for trade!!!

Don't we think Cabs and D-Train are just as valuable to us??? What next? We should hope Hanley becomes a major star so we can trade him for other less quality rookies? ACK!

Yankees- Bernie Williams, Derek Jeter, Posada

Phillies - Bobby Abrue

Atlanta - Chipper, Smoltz

Tampa - Toby Hall, Huff

Mets - Cliff Floyd (a gift from us)

SD - Kahlil Green

St Louis - Albert (can you imagine asking the cards for this player HA!)

Mil - Jenkins

Houston - Biggio, Bagwell

Mariners - Ichiro

there are not more than 15-20 "untradable" players in the game today and not even they are safe from being traded. i mean even a-rod was traded when he was considered one of the best. pujols won't be traded at this phase of his career. and there are only a handful or players that teams will never discuss moving.

frankly your list is a bit off. the yankees would love to get rid of bernie and his contract. and i don't know why you think there is so much love between the mets and floyd. if the phillies are going to hold onto anyone it is howard. then you list some of the oldest players around for other teams.

just because there is no market for good players doesn't mean teams wouldn't like to move them.

and when it comes to willis and cabrera it is all about money and how much they are expected to make as their contracts begin to explode and how much loria is willing to lay out on payroll. if it is projected they will make together more than he plans to lay out for the entire team that won't be a reason to keep them. right now the payroll is about $15 million. in two years time cabs and willis alone will be costing around $20 million.

Keep in mind his option that would have been this year was not picked up... they made a new (and much smaller) contract this year.

A few of your untradeable's are off but I really agree with your post.

I hate the whole trade everyone away mentality. Keep a couple of guys that the hardworking fans can relate to until they get used to the new guys.

keep in mind Bernie has been with the yanks since he was a pup. Yes they wouldn't mind departing with him now that he's what 90 years old.

but cabs and willis aren't even near 30 years old.

That said...with the payroll cut to 15 mill...they could pay market price to keep both of them. If not what are we hoping for? That these rookies turn out to be like Cab...JUST so we can trade them?

Then why hope Hanley becomes a star?

If the Phillies fall, -Bobby Abreu will be the first to get traded by the deadline...

But I agree with your post, keep Dtrain and Cabs...

The list above is laughable.

thier were and still are serious negotiations between the red sox and phils regarding abreu. yes he's a good player but it wouldn't surprise me to see him leave if the phils got some good talent back in return

Why would the Red Sox want Abreu? They have Manny Coco and mini Papi after they get rid of Nixon...If anything I could see the Yankee's being interested.

I say trade D-Train because he won't be good in a few years. but that's just me.

The "Trade D-Train Club" has about 3 members. It has a smaller membership than the "Bring back Joe Dillon Club".

I forgot the specifics of our previous debate on this..... why wont Dotrelle be good in a few years after 3 years of being good?

D-Train is a great competitor and overall great guy (all you can ask for). As far as talent....I look at Nomo's quirky delivery like Dontrelle's. People will figure it out. D-Train will also become too expensive and could be injury prone like all pitchers (especially with that funky motion).

Might as well trade him while his stock is high.

ONLY WAY I TRADE HIM IS IF WE GET BACK 3 "A" RATED PROSPECTS. And if we did from the Angels or Dodgers....then the Marlins would RIP someone off and be back in the series in 2-3 years.
