May 27, 200620 yr Yeah, start by getting into college. And then take courses that would prepare you for business and law. Prepare for a tough LSAT!

Ask Ramp, he's studying to be a Scout/Agent/General Manager and he just graduated.
May 27, 200620 yr Author I want to become either a scout or agent..i like either..tough LSAT what's that?..and yup i just remembered that Ramp is studying to become a GM.I sure could use his help
May 27, 200620 yr That's a tough path to take man. Make sure you really work your butt off during undergrad so you can get into law school or some sort of sports administration graduate program. I would do a sport management undergrad and go to law school if you want to try the agent path. Make sure you make as many connections in the sports world while you're in school. Networking is essential. Right now it seems everyone wants to be an agent.

I sure do,and i'm ready to bust my ass to do so..and DetroitWhat..are you serious that many people want to become agents now? Yes. At UF, for example, I went through the sport management undergrad program. I would say about 50% of the kids in there mentioned wanting to be an agent. That and the Sport Management grad program is getting very selective do to the high numbers of general business/finance/management undergrads applying for it. Everybody wants to get into sports, and it's mostly to become sports agents. If you're looking to become a scout, just get an undergrad degree in a sport management/administration program. Once you've completed take an internship with a spring training site in the Cactus or Grapefruit League and get to know the scouts for the team. I worked in Viera with the Nationals spring training and got to know a lot of those guys. It's all about who you know. If you somehow work your way into helping some of the scouts out, that could go a long way. There was a kid just out of college just like me who was Jim Bowden's assistant. He took care of player profiles and stats. And it was just because he networked and worked his way in. That's the name of the game in the sporting world.
May 27, 200620 yr Good luck, Laz. I am sure you will fulfill your dreams. Let me know if you need any college advice. You know where to find me.
May 27, 200620 yr I would have graduated from high school 15 years ago. Got my GED 16 years ago. Graduated from college 8 years ago. Life is good. Too bad I wanted to get into sports management as well. Now the elderly count on me to make sure they eat every day. Good times!

I plan on going to college and studying to become an Agent,i plan to start working on it after i come back to Miami from California in late June
May 27, 200620 yr Your undergrad degree is the 4-year one you'll receive. It is at most times called a Bachelors Degree. Then comes grad school...which would include law school. The college application process for the upcoming year more than likely has already passed.
May 27, 200620 yr you should go to miami-dade for now. you can worry about getting a 4-year degree later; for now you should make sure you get registered for classes this fall. here's the website, and here's where you go to apply. if i were you, i'd get that taken care of this weekend. actually, come to think of it, maybe you should wait til tuesday, go to the campus in person, and have someone there help you.
May 27, 200620 yr hold up you want to be an agent, graduated high school this week but you never applied for college? just do what alk said, go to Miami-dade, start getting credits and eventually transfer to another school to finish getting the bachelors.

For real estate you dont need college, at least in Texas, but it does help as you can elminate some classes you would need to take in order to get your license. But real estate is tough, being able to speak Enligsh does help. did you even take the SAT or some comprable entrace exam for higher education? always great to want to be something and have no clue on how to do it. those guidance couneslors at your school must be worth all the money they earn :thumbup
May 31, 200620 yr Author Ooh i so an undergrad degree would be 4 years I need to sign at Miami-Dade sometime this week, hopefully thursday. Yup i'm going to go to Miami-Dade and possibly finish at F.I.U or maybe Long Beach State, who know's what will happen from here til then. I heard that to do Real Estate now,you actually do have to go to College.
May 31, 200620 yr Author Yeah it is,but it can be a fun experience. I actually haven't taken the SAT,the reason being is because you don't need to take the SAT to get into Miami-Dade(you need the entry test or w.e)..so no i haven't taken it,but i might take it now in June.
