Which had a better taste

The 2003 players were more exciting IMO. Also the end to the NLDS was amazing with the tagout at home plate, then there was Josh's near perfect game vs. the Cubs to turn the series around. Finally, the Marlins beat the Yankees in 2003, which made it so much sweeter.

I heard 1997 it was about there is no hope, Yankee will always win the playoff while weaker team will always stink. There was no revunue sharing during that time. And the Livan Hernandez mom had problem trying to go to the stadium. The Indians seem like a random team to play against too.

It look like they had the best game 7. It was a pitcher duel and it look like all hope was lost for the fish in the 9th when they score the tying run 2-2. And win it in the 11th. One of the longest and so far still the most exciting game 7 according to many peoples. I heard a Indian pitcher and ss use to be tight friends like pierre and Willis but after they lost, the pitcher vow to beam the batter if he ever face him and he did around 2002.

2003 was more exciting, IMO.

2003 was more magical and unexpected, but '97 is just special to me.

To me, it's like trying to pick a favorite child or brother since I remember both vividly and with special memories ('97 was the last year my dad was alive and it means a lot that he was able to see his team win).

I'll probably be the only one to say this, but '97 is my favorite run and for simply personal reasons will always be.

However, 2003 was the most magical, no question.

Have you looked at that Indians lineup? It was SICK. I still think it's a miracle that the Marlins won.

I guess not, is it possible to find an old 97 lineup showing their avg, hr, rbi, sb?

I dunno, I remember 97 well because that's when I abandoned the O's and hopped on the bandwagon as an 11 year old boy. I saw the team win it all and they just drew me in. Been addicted ever since. I would say 97 was more special because that's what got me into this wonderful team.

i wasn't really into baseball in 1997, i was a season ticket holder but only went for the ice cream (i was 7)...so no doubt 2003 was my favorite...that was an exciting team..

I don't know.. I can't really say one was better than the other. 2003 was a better story, cause nobody thought the Marlins had a chance. In 1997, we brought a bunch of people in, so the expectations were higher...

97 was very special cause it was the first World Championship for the Marlins and the first I got to experience for a team I rooted for.. So yes, it was awesome.. I'll never forget it... But I will never forget 2003 either, for watching these guys defy all odds and playing their arses off.

Both were amazing. I got to go to Livan's 15 strikeout game which was really special to me.

And JBeck's amazing shutout vs. the Cubs (which was the best bday present ever!)

Well here a nice encyclopedia about 97 world series and when you are done reading you can check on the 03 one

Memories :notworthy

Quotes of the Series

"Thome hits it into deep right field, Gary Sheffield is back, at the wall, leaps, he got it!!....its the play of the series, is the play of the 1997 World Series." - Bob Costas (NBC Sports) commentating on Marlins right rielder Gary Sheffield robbing a home run from Cleveland Indians first baseman Jim Thome.

"A liner off of Nagy's" glove, into center-field. The Florida Marlins have won...the World Series!!!" - NBC Sports announcer Bob Costas

"I love you Miami!!!"-- Liv?n Hern?ndez while lifting the 1997 World Series MVP Award

I don't think it's even close. 2003 was far more exciting. The only thing 1997 has is that classic Game 7 (which is probably the best game I've ever been to). In just about every other aspect imaginable--from memorable games to likeable players--2003 wins...at least in my mind.

2003. We got to knock out 3 of the like 5 teams I hated the most, plus I just loved Wrigley field's reaction to he 8-run 8th. I can still remember the guy who had his mouth wide open in surprise :lol

Same here, my dad was watching the game while I was with him playing with my toys. Can't remember much. I remember that I notice a pattern of Fish win one, then the Indians, then fish again, then Indians. So I was able to predict the last 2 games result correctly.
